HOUSE IS FEELING...AT THE SHELTER!!, January 3, 2003

I have never been to NYC's legendary SHELTER Club, but this is THE soundtrack for true house-headz around the globe - the awe-inspiring, uplifting, seminal, brilliant collective known as BLAZE releases a sorta "Best Of..." CD compilation, which sadly isn't getting a U.S. release ever? Isn't it a shame that house-music fans in American have to buy a Japanese Import to hear/experience old-fashioned soul/garage/house music made in the USA?! ALL of these traxx are ESSENTIAL - hearing them takes you back to all those late-night hands-in-the-air, eyes-closed gopsel-house moments you know & love - of course, you would need a BOX SET to include ALL of BLAZE's amazing, stunning REMIXES over the last decade or so (are you feeling me label execs?!), but THIS is a great place to start if you want to sample true house music back in the day, "the way we used to" - as opposed to the current crop of "dance music" that's really just a monotonous, soul-less soundtrack...how sad - if you love Blaze, you should track down more RECENT traxx like: "How Deep Is Your Love?" "Lovely Ones" "Better Days" "Breathe" etc - truly BLESSED Stuff!! Not just good house music, GREAT MUSIC PERIOD!
