Everything you ever wanted to know about Blue,
By Amanda Richards (Georgetown, Guyana) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Best of Blue (Audio CD)
Blue may not be as familiar a name as their US counterparts N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, but this British "boy" band rules the pop roost in the UK and further afield, with three chart topping albums and millions of albums and singles sold worldwide. This "Best of" album contains singles chosen from the albums "All Rise", "One Love" and "Guilty", plus some new material such as "Curtain Falls" which samples Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise", and the original "Love at First Sight". All their hit singles are here, and also of note are the guest performances by Elton John on "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word"; Stevie Wonder and Angie Stone on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours"; and Lil Kim on "Get Down on It". Having only three albums does limit a "hits" album somewhat, and predictably, this album pretty much gives you everything you need to know about Blue. Their young fan base probably wouldn't care if Duncan, Anthony, Lee and Simon did nothing but lip sync and dance, and may have bought this album primarily to get at the photographs in the liner notes. Formulaic pop and some respectable covers make for easy listening. Amanda Richards, May 11, 2005

What can I say. All the hits are here and to top it off this compliation came with a bonus disc that contains a gallery and tour photos and other stuff. The bonus disc also contains around 8 tracks which are not released commerically anywhere. Also a few remises worth taking note of here. The music is either for listening or with some tracks to boogie to! Listen to this and make your choice...

Our american music scene is boring. These guys are definitely not. They have range and power. They have mix funk and pop. I can listen to them over and over again. A wonderful departure from what is playing on the radio.

I recently ran across this musical group on YouTube by accident by watching a video that had their song, "Breathe Easy" as the theme. I instantly loved the song so had to find out who sang it. I kept asking ppl I knew if they had heard of the group called, "Blue" but no one had ever heard of them so I guess they are not well known in the States. I was surprised to find out it was a British boy band & even more surpised that I like every single song on this cd! I am in my 40's so I don't normally care for boy bands but these guys are great!!This cd offers beautiful ballads such as, "If You Come Back", "Guilty", "Breathe Easy", & "Best In Me". I really like the remakes of Kool & the Gang's "Get Down on It", & Blue singing w/Stevie Wonder on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered". "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" w/Elton John is ok but then maybe it's because I've never been crazy about that song. You'll find a little hip hop flare with "All Rise", "Fly By", "One Love", "Bubblin'", & "Curtain Falls". My favorite song on this cd would have to be, "U Make Me Wanna", with it's catchy lyrics & rythym. I have played this cd non-stop in my car since I got it! i ordered Blue's cd "Guilty" for my BFF for Christmas. She had never heard of Blue either & her words via text were, "awesome cd"!!

I found this GEM by mistake, i was going throgh some compilations I had & didn't play. Granted this is "pop music" but these guys are talented. Their harmony's are spot on and this cd has slow ballads as well as some that you just want to get up & dance. Purchase this if you want pop music at it's best has a duet with Elton John)and a GREAT VERSION OF SIGNED SEALED ,DELIVERED. You really can't go wrong.
