5.0 out of 5 stars Some alternate recordings, May 13, 2008
This review is from: Best of The Blues Brothers (Audio CD)
If you are a fan of The Blues Brothers and have the other albums (Briefcase..., Made In.... and the Soundtrack) then this one is still well worth a purchase as it contains two different live recordings plus an additional song - all of which are not available anywhere else. Expressway to Your Heart (track one) only features on this album (not taking in the countless re-issue best of cd's). Some killer drumming and an ace, in fact awesome vocal from Elwood makes this song alone worth the money. But you also get different live versions of Rubber Biscuit and Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (now it would appear the California Highway Patrol are waiting for the boys after the show and Elwood gives a big shout out to Solomon Burke and Wilson Picket).
Looking at the current price of this album second hand it really is an essential purchase and one that won't disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blues Bros. rule, plain and simple!, July 17, 2000
This review is from: Best of The Blues Brothers (Audio CD)
This is just another great CD from the Blues Brothers. Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi are a great combination. If you have ever seen the Blues Brothers movie, and you enjoyed the music in it, you should buy this CD for more of the same entertainment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe Not The Best But..........., May 11, 2011

The Best of the Blues Brothers is pretty good. Its not the "best" but its pretty good. If you really like the Brothers I would recomend having this in your collection. The guys are in great form and there are some real favs such as "Expressway", She Caught The Katy", "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love". However I might make another of the Brothers albums, after all there were only four including the soundtrack one of your first forays into The Blues Brothers.
