For all lovers of Jazz, this is a must album to have. McFerrin uses his voice like an instrument and accomplishes AMAZING things with it. On this album you can hear his best work and some amazing collaborations with other jazz musicians. Personally, I find his rendition of Chick Corea's standard "Spain" to be the most amazing music I have heard in a long time. He and Corea form an awesome combination. I have heartily enjoyed this album and believe you will to.

Remember Bobby McFerrin's hit "Don't Worry, Be Happy"? I was intrigued by his sounds then, but never got around to looking for an album of his work alone. Last month I picked up this album on impulse and I'm glad I did! "Best Of" covers a range of his music from four different albums, including both solo vocals, a cappella pieces (both solo and group), and a neat track from his album "Play" where he sings a jazz "duet" (battle?) with piano by Chick Corea. My favorite by far is "Freedom is a Voice". You can check out samples of "Freedom" and other tracks on this CD here at Amazon under the headings of his other albums. bobby mcferrin is a vocal master... his version of SPAIN with corea is one of the most amazing songs i've ever heard

this cd contains the essentials of his 4 albums: 'Bangzoom','Simple plesure','Play'& 'Spontaneous inventions'. we can hear his play in some numbers by alone, and some with other artist(herbie hancock,chick corea,manhattan transfer, etc...) that's all amazing! I have no idea where is he can't reach by his voices and imaginations! enjoy! you can feel that he's the very one!

Well, what can I say? He's amazing! I sure wouldn't want to get the job of picking out the Best of The Bobby!

This CD is good, Bobby McFerrin's voice is truly an instrument. The song selection on this CD was not his best of for me.

A top CD technical high level sound and of course a real good perfomance!

Let's be clear, Bobby is a genius. His efforts on this this CD however are not up to his true talents. I have enjoyed some of his more inspired work with Yo-Yo Ma or The Vienna Philharmonic more than some of the well-meaning but trite work of this CD.

I purchased this cd for "Don't Worry, Be Happy" expecting the rest of the CD to be similar in tone. There are a few other pieces similar in feel such as "Freedom is a Voice", "From me To You" and "Bang! Zoom", but it was not what I hoped for. I find the combination of songs very uneven due to their widely different styles. I will enjoy the ones I like and probably never play the others since I find the change from something like "Don't Worry Be Happy" to "Spain" somewhat jarring.

He has an amazing range and versitility. I think there was a PBS documentary about him that says he is a teacher. I like that. I also like this CD.
