5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Bond Collection Ever
This is by far the best collection of James Bond film songs ever assembled. I really liked THUNDERBALL - vocal by Tom Jones because it is a real powerhouse and is pure Bond through and through. You Know My Name by Chris Cornell from CASINO ROYALE sounds terrific. The DVD has some great videos especially by a-ha performing THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. What a great video and song...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good to have "You Know My Name" on a real Bond album
It was good to see Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from CASINO ROYALE finally show up on an official James Bond CD album of the soundtrack themes and songs. However, that's was about all I really liked here. Missing is the GoldenEye trailer music that was on the last compilation of official James Bond soundtrack themes on CD. You can't go wrong with this 007 collection. The only weak cut is David Arnold's bonus track of the James Bond theme. Moby did a better job!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful CD, April 19, 2009

I think that this is the best Bond theme CD that I've seen. All of the others have other people playing them, but this one has the originals. Having "We Have All the Time in the World" was a nice touch, because even though it isn't a Bond theme, it is a beautiful song. Having the music videos for some of the songs was nice to, and I enjoyed watching the documentary about the Bond music. I would definitely recommend this CD.

David Arnold's bonus track of the James Bond Theme is somewhat a huge disappointment. It is totally unmoving and truly lackluster. The DVD selections are okay but the visuals could have been digitally restored much better. The A VIEW TO A KILL video looked rather faded. There was a short documentary on the music of James Bond but you can find this on one of the James Bond movie DVDs. I do not remember exactly which one, but this documentary video had been previously released. If you like to have all the theme music from DR NO through CASINO ROYALE for the first time this is a good CD to get. However, you you have been around a while you get the picture. Well, that's just my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully compiled but technically flawed, March 28, 2011
This review is from: Best Of Bond... James Bond, The (CD/DVD) (Audio CD)
Though I'm delightfully satisfied with this set, its disc has a major glitch.
While playing no. 2 track From Russia with Love by Matt Monro, fast forwarded voice can be heard via left channel at 1:04 through 1:05. I'd recommend you to use your headphone instead.

Go ahead, you be the judge.

4.0 out of 5 stars summary Sound track, June 4, 2009

technically, this is an up to date (till Casino Royale, 2006) of the '30 years Anniversary Collection. me being a hardcore 007 fan, have all the original Sound track albums till date, and converted to my Ipod is the actual theme songs collection, which in theory, is the same as this one.
over the years, the theme songs have had various qualities, but have lately been on decline, the 'die another day' by Madonna being the worst i have observed, this particular track, rock bottom. no offence intended (i used to like Madonna's songs, back in the days...). this is just my personal opinion, when matched up to the Conery era tracks all the way up till The world is not enough.
but to sum it up, a 'must have' for any 007 fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Biased Toward Bond, But Still A Winner, December 23, 2008

I agree with the sentiments expressed in the first two reviews (the only two reviews at the time). Chris Cornell's song is a welcome addition to the Bond compilations and this track is superb. I also agree that the so-called Bonus Track is anything but, Moby's creation on the Tomorrow Never Dies soundtrack was much better. Madonna's song really stands out on this disc for me as the craziest of all the songs with the techno/digital beats, but we've all seen the movie and heard the song.

The Living Daylights and License To Kill were horrible movies, mostly because of Timothy Dalton, partly because they were sandwiched between A View To A Kill, which I thought was a great plot, and Goldeneye, which was Brosnan's first Bond movie. Anyway, for as bad as the movies were, the title songs were pretty good and they are well done on this disc.

The DVD with the 6 videos is great and it's a perfect addition to the Bond set. This package is well worth the money, I highly recommend it for all the Bond fans.

1.0 out of 5 stars What about the title sequences????, February 21, 2009
This review is from: Best Of Bond... James Bond, The (CD/DVD) (Audio CD)
I have not purchased this item for as much as I would like to have all the Bond theme songs in one place, I want even more to have the extraordinary title sequences that go with them.

This should be a no-brainer. The amazing title sequences created by Maurice Binder and others are as iconic to the bond franchise as the songs themselves. Long before music videos became commonplace the Bond title sequences were considered the cutting edge of visually interpreted music. Instead of teasing fans with a CD compilation of all the theme songs and a DVD of random cheesy videos, why not give us the same songs with their title sequences on DVD or better yet Bluray?
