5.0 out of 5 stars love the bugs
I am not too big on bugs, but my kindergarten class is. This book will answer many of their questions, especially about the roles of various bugs. The pictures are absolutly beautiful and full of details. This book is a great reference book to have for those children that are "buggy".

1.0 out of 5 stars Thin & Weak
This paperback edition barely qualifies as a book. It's 32 of the smallest, least substantial pages I've ever seen. There are no photographs of bugs, only drawings, with a few descriptions and facts interspersed. I am very disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, July 5, 2006
This review is from: The Best Book of Bugs (Hardcover)
My 5 year old grandson is going through the "bug stage". I have given him the bug vacuum and habitat and the Lady Bug habitat. He will sit for long periods of time just reading this book. He loves to take the book out in the backyard to match what he finds out there with what is in the book. Best money I have spent for him in a while. I encourage anyone with a child that's buggy over bugs to make the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars May Not the Best Book Of Bugs!!, June 24, 2009

Colourful simple introduction to the wonderful world of bugs intended for young children maybe 3 to 8 years old. My 4 year old daughter loves it. As for being "The Best Book of Bugs", well not sure if it can claim that title, its presentation is a bit crowded; could be better. Dollars for Quality, I guess it's good enough.

There's a lot of writing and pictures in this book. My son examined the pictures and drawings closely, but isn't ready for so much reading quite yet at 6 years. So this book is good for a wide range of ages and interests. The pages are very crowded and colorful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrations and information, November 6, 2009
This review is from: The Best Book of Bugs (Hardcover)
If your child is into bugs this is a great book to aid their understanding of how insects fit into our environment.

The pictures are nicely done and very realistic. The descriptions are good. Take the pages on the honey bee. You'll find the book covers a year in the honey bee's life and your child will come away with an understanding of where honey comes from.

The book also includes a glossary and a nice index of its 32 pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big pictures, June 26, 2007
This review is from: The Best Book of Bugs (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book filled with just enough detail about all types of bugs. The book is truly big but thin enough so it doesn't take that much space. It is organized into categories of bugs then describes the different bugs of that category. My 4 year old daughter is very interested in this subject and the great pictures keep her so interested when we read it to her. There are actual pictures of bugs and not illustrations.

my 2 1/2 year old LOVED this book! He would pick out each but on the pages and we would talk about it. It's realistic and keeps him interested. I would recommend this book to anyone.
