As a parent of 3, and an aunt to 11 kids of varying ages, this guide has been indispensable. The descriptions are clear and concise, and there are books in a wide variety of genres. Best of all, I can access the guide whenever I'm looking for the perfect gift. Thanks to the Children's Book Committee - I hope you will publish other guides in the future!

This book is a fabulous resource for any parent, teacher, friend or caregiver of children. It demystifies the book selection process and makes choosing the right book so much fun.

The introduction gives a number of suggestions regarding how to choose books for your child(ren) and then the chapters that follow are broken down for each age group. The age span for each chapter is several years wide (usually over a three year spread) so making an appealing choice for children of various ages is easy.

The book lists are arranged alphabetically within each chapter and each title is annotated with a brief description. As I read the annotations, I not only found books my kids would love to hear, I found ones I would like to read. The lists include a wide assortment of fiction and nonfiction titles as well as many notable folk and fairy tales of national and international origin.

I highly recommend this book. It's a fantastic resource and so affordably priced.
