This CD is one to own if you love "Born to be Alive". It has parts of the extended version mixed in. Some parts are corny, but overall it's worth buying.

I was disappointed when I received this CD. The Amazon site lists five other tracks besides Born To Be Alive. I bought the CD for the song You Turn Me On. This song does not exist on the CD. It only contains three versions of the song Born To Be Alive. If this is the only song you want, then this is a good CD. If, however, you are hoping to hear any of the other five songs, steer clear. They don't exist. Whatever happened to truth in advertising?

I saw the Bacardi commercial and loved the song. It motivates and makes one feel good that life can be better. The two remixes of the original 79' version are cool and provide a new outlook on this classic track.

I first heard this song on the movie Vegas Vacation. I thought it was a good song. When I heard it fell under the category of disco, I wasn't that suprised. And when I found out Amazon had this CD, I had to buy it.

Well I have loved this song for so long and for so many reasons, and it really makes you feel good inside, as if all your problems will fade, and with all bad....there is a positive outlook, plus it has a GREAT addictive beat. I currently have the 2004 Spincycle Fluff mix clocking in at 9:48, of Born 2 B Alive, it remains with the same beat, and does not stray from it however, there are added twists and turns, and over dubs, it is exceptional, Probably a white label, which means only a few were printed, and they are probably never to be released again. It is 2 bad that this classic was not released as a "new 2004 remix" gee Barry Manilow released the classic Copacabana, as well as Rod Stewart released Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, both 2004-2005 remixes via the fantastic Ralphi Rosario, and Pter Ruhofer, 2 excellent DJ mixers, both are remixed 2 perfection, with the "do not stray, yet spice it up attitude, both have so many mixes and nothing under 7 min, and nothing over 13min" The ball has begun to roll from past to forward, meaning history "DOES" repeat itself....and look 4 more in the future, I currently have SO many re-released songs remixed to todays standards of floor packed fun...from Sara, Edge of 17, Everywhere (Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks) Games People Play/Alan Parsons Project, Eleanor Rigby/Beatles, and one classic I have ALWAYS been fond of is The Logical Song/Supertramp. Go Figure, music is a booming business, and these are a few of the new remixes I even have Elton John Rocket Man, and Your Song re-released both in at 7-12 min long(promotional... sorry guys)to the club standards of today, look in DJ record stores, alot is on 12" vinyl (yes they STILL Make RECORDS, as a friend of mine almost went into full cardiac arrest, (just kidding) but he was in SHOCK. However being a prof. DJ and knowing the right people sometimes is a great help. I currently do not own the CD I am rating, yet I am sure it is great, Figured I'd throw a few thoughts your way. Does anyone know what version(s) of Born To Be Alive are on the Best Of Patrick Hernandez?

looking for this dvd for a long time, glad i found it thru amazon!!

I'm not much into disco or anything, but I have to say I can't stop listening to this CD! "Born To Be Alive" is one of the best classic songs I've ever heard. It's the perfect tune to listen to when you need a good pick-me-up. It's also good to play while pounding shots with buddies or playing drinking games, but that's just my recent experience... Overall, it's a great reminder that the glass is always half-full, along with what great times you'll potentially have in the future! The rest of the CD isn't half-bad either...

I just had the lyrics of this song tattooed on my back. My wife is a soldier overseas and when she gets back and sees this....(I'll make sure to have the song playing in the meanwhile) she'll either be my eternal love slave or she will divorce me. Regardless, this is the best song ever created.

I first heard Born to Be Alive in my house long ago. But then I had to dance with the girls in my class along with my teacher for the Talent Show. I guess it grew on me. This album rocks especially if you like music with a low beat. Now I have the dance stuck in my head! AND "H. C." GIRLS, WE LOVE THAT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! (Din Din)
