Buy this CD at once !, January 2, 2000
What makes a great deal of a difference between BRIGITTE BARDOT and other actresses who are into singing is that each and every song of BARDOT's was written for her, by the same people who were also her friends. The result is an incredible authenticity. BRIGITTE BARDOT loved to sing even more than she loved to act: she would spend whole nights in recording studios, then she would rush at dawn to be on time at the movies studios. She wrote in her recent Mémoires that she never felt tired when singing (while she grew tired of acting), and it sure shows when listening to her records. If you like different kinds of music, you'll love this CD even more: you'll find calypso, twist, pop, mambo, charleston, chanson... This CD is also great for people who are learning French: BARDOT has such a personal way to pronounce words, detaching them from each other, which makes it very easy to understand the lyrics. In a sociological and historical way, BRIGITTE BARDOT is what THE 50's and the 60's in France were all about. She is part of our collective memory. Buy this CD: you can't be disappointed !

Love this CD!, March 30, 1999

This Cd is fantastic, how many musical genres can you fit on one 20-track CD? There's cutesy pop, Gainsbourg's classics, and the adorable but cheesy Tu es le soleil de ma vie. Gainsbourg wrote some wonderful songs for her, and they're mostly all here, Harley Davidson, Je T'Aime, L'Appareil a Sous etc. You can hear she's having a lot of fun on these songs. If you like Bardot, buy it, it's a classic. Great photos too.

Une belle femme pour un bon prix!, October 1, 1998

This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
This CD is a perfect introduction to the work of Brigitte Bardot. Here she is at her most stunningly feline - particularly memorable moments include Je T'aime, moi non plus (the best version I have heard) and Bonnie and Clyde. There are, of course, more frivolous songs such as Bubble Gum and Harley Davidson, but one cannot fail to be won over by her silky seaside songs. I am a girl, so listening to this makes me feel like wearing inappropriate things and behaving accordingly*. Et vous? *Makes a great stocking stuffer!
