You get it for a technical $35 here so it is not a better deal.

Best Buy also gives you 500 bonus RZ points for pre-ordering. Plus the points you get from the purchase.... and points gamer dollars applied towards getting your gamer bonus. Its not a straight up comparison between the two as 45 vs 35.

less money out of your pocket is usually a better deal when both are "technically" the same price. therefore, bestbuy has currently the best deal. Also, bestbuy has a WAY better deal on the PC version at 35$ w/ 10$ reward zone. You don't get squat here with pc preorder.

Amazon is $55 - $20 gift card with no tax = 35 + release date delivery for a buck more
Bb is $45 - $10 gift card (reward zone) with $2-3 tax = $37/$38 + ship (unless you pick up in store)

It comes down to what's more important to you...

It's as simple as this:

If you are planning to buy other games after Portal 2, then go for the Amazon deal.

If you are completely alien to gaming in general and are buying the game for a loved one or friend, with no intention of coming back for other games, go for the Best Buy deal. :)

Thanks for the reminder, that's like a 2 for 1 purchase then.

I work at Best Buy and never tell people to shop there. If you have a RZ Mastercard, then by all means get your bonus points, but probably most of us don't. Amazon is simply the best.

Best buy now has the better deal.
PC version: 35$ + 10$ gift card + 500 rewardzone point (10$)
PS3 + 360 version: 45$ + 10$ gift card + 500 rewardzone point (10$)

Best buy still blows. No self respecting person should ever buy there.

Amazon does charge tax in some states and therefore is a better deal at Bestbuy in some stats. Like Jose said, 10$ less upfront and same 20$ back is better then amazon's deal. Simple math saving 35$(bestbuy) is better then saving 25$(amazon) for the same product.

I never have any problems with Best Buy nor Amazon. Both have taken very good care of any issues or price adjustments. I am also a Silver Premiere Reward Zone member at Best Buy, so I do get a few more perks, like free shipping on any order. I can order a DVD for $4.99 and get it shipped to me for free. Although, at Amazon, it doesn't take much to fill my cart with over $25 worth of items. Great deals on both sites, and great customer service! And great to have the options!

Also, if you bank at Bank of America, they have their Add-it-Up program which pays you back for purchases. For purchases at Best Buy online, you get 1% back. During the holidays, it usually goes up to 3 to 5%. Ebay purchases get 3% back. I wish they had Amazon on their list.

Another also, Best Buy accepts PayPal payments. Another thing I would like to see Amazon add.

Eh, if I wasn't getting it with release date delivery then I might go pick it up in stores but it is more continent this way for me, even with it costing more.

Everyone should report to amazon that best buy has it cheaper and hopefully amazon will lower their price.

I got a weird deal....
I purchased it at $49.99 and took the free shipping.
However, I called Amazon, and I have $25 towards my next pre-order. I can't see applied it until it ships.
So, I will pay $29.99, and will get the promo $20 too.
Awesome!
