I have heard him refered to as the Father of Soal Blues. I dig his felt voice. And with good reason he sings the blues, with a captive audience of guards and being recorded in prison.

Once in a while music lovers are blessed to be touched by greatness. Calvin Leavy is one of those great ones! Some have tried to recreate the sound which was pure and carved out only for him. This CD clearly sends the message "There is only one Calvin Leavy" the ultimate blues singer. Still the best song on the album is Cummings Prison, but others on the album also capture the magic in this voice. If you are a true Blues fan this is a must have for your collection.
