Some of the best folk/rock music ever recorded!, March 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
This is a great CD. Not only does it feature Chad & Jeremy's biggest hits like "A Summer Song" and "Yesterday's Gone" but it also contains their often overlooked classic recordings of "If I Loved You", "September In The Rain", and "Girl From Ipanema". For anyone who enjoys folk oriented pop music, this CD is a must have.

Lazy day listening, April 24, 1998

Chad and Jeremy are one of the lesser known duos to come out of the 1960s British Invasion period. However, that should not have been the case. They had some real gems, like "A Summer Song", which are included on this CD. It is a listening treat for those days when you want soothing sounds.

Brits who made it in America, January 12, 2005
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
In their homeland, the British pop duo of Chad and Jeremy are virtually unknown - you won't find their music in record stores, even on sixties compilations, except the occasional American import. I only found out about them through Amazon when they appeared on my list of recommendations.
It seems that Chad and Jeremy quickly realized that their style of pop music (easy listening ballads) would be unlikely to succeed in sixties Britain and aimed at the American market instead. In this, they were phenomenally successful, having six top ten hits, four of which made the top five. Of these, A summer song topped the charts while Willow weep for me made number two. Yet they didn't even have so much as a minor hit with any of these songs in Britain and nor did anybody else. So Chad and Jeremy were right to focus on America.
On this collection, their own hits dominate the first eleven tracks but after that there are a few songs that even Brits will recognize including Lemon tree, It was a very good year, My coloring book, September in the rain and The girl from Ipanema, all covered superbly.
Maybe their music wasn't right for sixties Britain, but I'm one Brit who is pleased to have discovered their music.
