5.0 out of 5 stars Dutch response to Abba, June 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
The Dutch gave Abba a run for their money at times during the 70s with groups like Pussycat, George Baker Selection, BZN and Luv' and Champagne was no exception. If you like Abba, Champagne's Best Of album will please you....Champagne's four main hits are there - Valentino, Rock and Roll Star, Light Up My Eyes and Oh Me Oh My Goodbye....the rest of the album is an odd collection of different styles with the best of the bunch being Shooh Shooh Suger (reminds me of Fox's 70s hit S-S-Single Bed)....Though the album is patchy, it's a rare release for international listeners and worth snapping up just to get your hands on the four hit singles...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad mastering, February 10, 2010
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
Belive or not, songs are taken from Lp record. What's the point of buying this in that case? To me cd must represent the best audio available. Ok, i understand if mastertapes are lost - most of the case when it comes to fifties and sixties music. But those songs from 70's- come on-- tapes are sitting in the vault and SONY using a LP as the master.. This is wat I call poor mastering but maybe you can not expect more when paying nearly 12 dollars...
