Every few years, they change the track listing and the artwork. This is the second edition of this collection, which is as strong a collection of Christmas songs as you'll find anywhere. The third edition has significant changes in the tracks, though you may feel it difficult to justify both unless you're a Christmas music junkie. On balance, I prefer this edition though there is not much to choose between them.
Many classic UK hits are here (and one or two non-hits that should have been), including Happy Xmas (John Lennon), Wonderful Christmastime (Paul McCartney), I wish it could be Christmas every day (Wizzard), Merry Christmas everybody (Slade), Do they know its Christmas (Band aid), Fairytale of New York (Pogues and Kirsty MacColl), I believe in Father Christmas (Greg Lake), 2000 miles (Pretenders), A spaceman came travelling (Chris De Burgh), The power of love (Frankie goes to Hollywood), Driving home for Christmas (Chris Rea), Step into Christmas (Elton John), Merry Christmas everyone (Shaking Stevens), Another rock and roll Christmas (Gary Glitter), Little Saint Nick (Beach boys), Santa Claus is coming to town (Jackson 5), In dulci Jubilo (Mike Oldfield), Stop the cavalry (Jona Lewie), Christmas wrapping (Waitresses), White Christmas (Bing Crosby), The Christmas song (Nat King Cole), Mary's boy child (Harry Belafonte), When a child is born (Johnny Mathis), Mistletoe and wine (Cliff Richard), Walking in the air (Aled Jones), Rocking around the Christmas tree (Mel and Kim), Santa baby (Eartha Kitt), Lonely this Christmas (Mud), Pretty paper (Roy Orbison) and Gaudete (Steeleye Span).

I bought this CD a couple of years ago in London and it quickly became a favorite of all my friends and family. With songs from a stars ranging from Perry Como, Dean Martin and the great Bing Crosby doing White Christmas to Jethro Tull, Paul McCatney and John & Yoko to Slade, Mud and Mel & Kim. Best export the UK has produced since The Beetles. Thanks Amazon for carrying this. If you like Christmas music or even if you just want a CD that plays a variety this is a must for any collection. Trust me you will not regret getting it.

A fascinating mix of relatively unknown cuts (unknown in the US, at least) by artists like Chris De Burgh, Cliff Richard, Slade, et.al. mixed with well-known classics, (Crosby's "White Christmas" etc.) Any collection this mixed up has to be fun and breaks away from the traditional "Christmas" recordings. Somewhere on these CD's you'll find some gems and even the failures are worth a listen at least one time. (This review refers to the 1993 collection which is almost exactly the same as the one listed here.)

Being English and living in the U.S., this takes me back to being a kid in England. My husband (also English)and I listen to this CD over and over again at xmas while putting up the tree and drinking eggnog (with Brandy of course!). Anyway, it is a must in your CD collection no matter where you come from. It has some great pop/rock tunes as well as old classics. You will not be disappointed. I don't think this is the edition that I have, but from the other reviews, it looks as good as the one I have. Enjoy!!

This is just the best Christmas album I have ever heard. Has all the best hits from the 1940's upwards to the 1990's with the original artists! A must for everyone, of any age. I searched Orlando for this CD for 2 years and never found it! One look on Amazon, and it was on order! THANKS!

I bought this CD while I was living in England a number of years ago. When I moved there I owned no Christmas CDs and realized that as the holiday season rolled up, I was missing that part of my "home" in Canada. I bought this CD since it had a number of my favourites on it. Surprisingly, the entire CD is terrific and like other have said, it has become a favourite with family and friends since I have moved back to Canada. If you can find a copy of this album, pick it up...you will not be disappointed.
