I had a previous version of this book and really enjoyed it. This one has many more from the suburbs. Nice.

This is the second book that I have bought, it was a very nice book on where to find Christmas Decorations in the Chicagoland area. It brought back a lot of memeories, I wish I could be back in Chicago to take a few car trips. Maybe next year we will have to go back at Christmas time.

I think this book is a wonderful artistic achievement. The stories are imaginatively written and very entertaining, the photographs are beautiful, and the layout of the book is very interesting. This book will grace my coffee table during Christmas for years to come.

This lovely book was an excellent Christmas gift for all of my Chicago relatives. The book has beautiful photos and helpful maps showing many wonderful places to see Christmas house decorations. Taking the family to see these decorations is a favorite holiday tradition of many of my relatives. The book also has interesting stories about the people who decorated their homes, so even if you don't get out to see the houses, the read is quite interesting. My gift was a big hit in our family!

This is a lovely book, both visually and content. Required reading for any one who grew up in the 1950's and 1960's and remembers going to Candy Cane lane, but just can't remember where it was! It was so nice to revisit that part of my past. Once I got past going down memory lane, via Candy Cane lane, the book got even better. I explored the neighborhoods I currently live near. And then went on to other neighborhoods close and far. I learned of wonderful people and the drive behind their desires to decorate year after year. I was inspired and in awe of all of them. This year I hope to use the book as a guide to visit in person some of these magical homes.

If you live in Chicagoland and remember Candy Cane lane, you will love this book.
Mary gives you directions to some wonderous fantasy Xmas houses and what is so great about her book is that she tells you stories about each house. If you love Xmas, you will love this book. Since Candy Cane Lane stopped decorating, many years ago, I never knew where to go to see beautifully and unique houses decorated for Xmas. Mary's books fill that gap. You can now go to hundreds of houses both in Chicago and suburbs to get your Xmas fill. We used her book last year to go and see sections of houses. Her directions were great. We found all the houses without any problem. And we were rewarded with so much Xmas cheer, it was just a joy.

If you like Xmas and like to go and check out some great decorated houses, please purchase Mary's books. I liked them so much I bought both of them!!!!

I was disappointed because I thought it would have more interior decor shots...........I wanted ideas for decorating inside, so it was a let down when it only showed the exteriors.

I think I'll pass it on to a friend who does exterior lighting.
