The Best of Christmas from Ernie Ford is still "The Star Carol". Oh that someone would remaster that classic album! This CD is very acceptable and has at least two (that I can remember) cuts from "The Star Carol": Adeste Fideles and Sleep, My Little Lord Jesus. I found the addition of the children's voices somewhat overpowering and a bit annoying at times, especially as all I wanted to hear was Ernie alone. I wonder if most cuts weren't from some TV special? Still, it's a very nice Christmas collection with most of the songs reflecting the Christian values of Jesus' birth.

"The Star Carol" on CD is what we are all really waiting for:)

All of Ernie's Christmas recordings have become classics over the years...each track "AWAY IN A MANGER", "THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY" and SLEEP, MY LITTLE LORD JESUS", is a match made in heaven, they continue to inspire me every year at this time...his compassion and belief radiate from each song...you can tell that he really feels what he is singing, simply inspirational ~ this takes me back to the music I learned as a child, simplicity, richness and truth each song rekindles a flame within...close your eyes listen and join in with the spirit of Christmas...the Best of Christmas!

If you like the old Christmas Classics like Bing Crosby, Perry Commo, and Patty Page, you will like this album.

I have been looking for this CD for a long time. This is one of the Christmas albumns that my family used to play. It is a fantastic as I remember and brings back a lot of memories.

I'm also waiting for this album to become a cd.
I have the album and it's exceptional.

This will have to do until the lawyers or whoever is involved has the great good sense to release Ernie's "A Christmas Carol" album on CD. I search for it every yesr, and it's always a disappointment to find everything EXCEPT that available ... and it's the most CLASSIC Christmas albums from my youth ....PLEASE, someone get it on CD before I'm too old to shre it and pass it down?
