5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy recipes
The recipes in this book are very easy to bake, yet really delicious. I definetely recommend to buy it if you like to vary every now and then the little treats for the familly and friends.
Although I must give the readers a hint. I tried the "Chocolate Brownie Cupcakes" and let's get real, the recipe is NOT FOR CUPCAKES. I swear no cupcakes will come out of it. They...

2.0 out of 5 stars 125 best cupcake recipies
there are a lot of original and wonderful flavor ideas. many of the recipies are quite pricey to make due to the liberal use of dutch cocao powder. the basic cake recipie on which most of the cupcakes are based makes a rather dry cake that has a rough texture. the basic frosting recipie is too dense. i like the flavors but not the recipies. i have adapted the basic...

They totally stuck to the paper liners, never rose, actually they sunk and left a hole in the middle, and looked like the result of an oven catastrophe. But don't get me wrong, it was still delicious. After that, I've used the recipe as what it actually is: a brownie recipe, a very good brownie recipe. So, I've made brownies quite a few times now, in a regular 9X13" cake pan, and cut them into squares, and I'm happy to have a good unexpected brownie recipe at hand.
Most of the other recipes I've tried are indeed very tasty, specially the "Best Chocolate Cupcakes" recipe, which is absolutely excellent. Bake these cupcakes and the compliments won't stop coming your way.
Don't expect a lot of pictures of beatifully decorated cupcake pictures, since this is a RECIPE book. Just do what I do, bake this delicious recipes and decorate them using your own creativity and/or get ideas from other books.
A definete must-have in any kitchen, whether you're an occassional baker or almost a pro-baker.

This is a wonderful book for when you want to make just a pan of cupcakes. Although, I must say I usually make 48 mini cakes and bake them for 10-14 minutes. My favorite by far is the White Chocolate Chip with the Coffee Buttercream frosting. The recipes have simple ingredients. The print is easy to read. The frosting suggestions are helpful, as are other tips and comments, printed on each recipe. I did add 1-2 tablespoons meringue powder to the buttercream frosting just to help it hold up better

5.0 out of 5 stars Consistently marvelous results, July 9, 2007

This review is from: 125 Best Cupcake Recipes (Paperback)
Our whole family loves cupcakes, and the results with recipes from this book have been consistently delicious, both for me and friends who have borrowed the book. The flavors are natural and clear. We have tried everything from coconut to raspberry vanilla (the lemon cream frosting is killer on these) to mocha and chocolate. The only change I make is to substitute melted butter for oil in the recipes because we prefer the butter flavor. To those who say that the cupcakes are too dense: I think you have become too used to the texture of boxed cake mix or commercial bakery products. These are from scratch, homemade cupcakes without a doubt and I love the texture.

I love to cook and tried several receipts in Julie Hasson's book.
I found the directions very easy to follow and the receipts turned out yummy. I especially liked the Chocolate Expresso Cake. I made it for my girlfriends birthday and it was a big hit. My daughter had some friends over for a slumber party and I made the Vancouver Bars. I think they were gone before I left the room.
I would recommend this book for everyones collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to your cookbook collection, October 25, 2007
This review is from: 125 Best Cupcake Recipes (Paperback)
If only for the inspiration, this book is a winner. The recipes are simple, clearly written, and look amazing. For the most part the ingredients are things I usually have in the cupboard, so delicious "scrath" cupcakes are now always less than an hour away. I will never use a mix again. There's no excuse to when these recipes are so easy.

Last night I had to make cupcakes for a bake sale but had been unhappy with the frosting I'd previously used for that particular recipe. So I pulled out this book with it's variety if icings, and voila! the perfect match to raspberry cupcakes: vanilla cream frosting. It's like a normal buttercream, but the addition of whipping cream instead of milk makes it light, smooth and melt in your mouth buttery delicious!

My cookbook standard is if I can get at least one recipe I'll use over and over, it's worth whatever I paid for the book. As someone who loves to bake, I get the feeling I'll more than get my money's worth!

This is my third cook book from J.Hasson and I love them. They are easy to read, very personable, and the idea's are great. The recipes are simple to prepare. Our favorite so far is the Orange Chocolate Cupcakes, followed by the Candy Bar Cupcakes. The Halloween leftover idea is perfect!

I had never baked in my life prior to 125 Best Cupcake Recipes! I have made Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cupcakes, Mini Cheesecakes, and Chocolate Chip Coookie Cupcakes, too. I made them all just by following the easy instructions. Nothing was too difficult, even though it was from scratch!

So I've already tried about a dozen of these recipes - the chocolate fudge frosting is incredible - and the "best chocolate cupcake" recipe. Also love the lemon buttermilk and the toffee AND the french toast. Delish!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Cupcake Book!, August 26, 2006

This review is from: 125 Best Cupcake Recipes (Paperback)
I have been having a good time trying the different recipes in the book. Everything is from scratch, but the recipes are practical and once you have the basic ingredients there are many different recipes that you will be able to try without a trip to the market. This would be a nice book for someone teaching a young person how to cook!
