4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best!
I have purchased multiple books on single architects and even more compilations of modern design. This is by far one of the best I have read. The pictures show a good representation of the homes, and the commentary is just enough.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly produced
While I enjoyed the content, and found it very informative, the production quality of this book was very poor. I believe architectural books, like art books, should be produced using high quality reproduction methods. This publication looks more like the inexpensive knockoffs on the Costco discount table.

The only complaint is the floor plans. On several of the homes they give clear floor plans and on others there isn't one shown at all. I feel that to really understand the design of a home you need to be able to see how each area interacts with the others. Each floor plan should have a key with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, March 31, 2011
This review is from: The Best of Cutler Anderson Architects (Paperback)
A great overview of one of my favorite West Coast architectural practices, bringing together two earlier publications on Cutler Anderson and expanding on the firm's more adventurous recent work. The text is clear and informative, especially for the later projects.

I wish the publisher had used a better printing house, but the format itself works well. I love the cover choice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Book ! Not So Happy with Kindle, Less 2 Stars, December 17, 2010

This review is from: The Best of Cutler Anderson Architects (Paperback)
I always like James Cutler's work, for me it's kind of a modern Greene & Greene,

great reference book, would highly recommend this book to any of my friends.

But I can't say the same to my experience with Kindle, I'm a designer and use this type of books as reference,

if I can't print any pages from this book, even with watermarks like Zinio does for magazine,

this file or book is kind of useless for me !

I don't really have a Kindle and I got this ebook as a test, but I guess Amazon don't understand that

Non-fiction & fiction (Novels) books are not used the same manner as a photo or design reference books.

I would give this book 5 Stars but 0 star for Kindle.

But I think Kindle as a concept is very promising, I hope they continue to involve and improve.
