5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST CD's EVER
This album dosen't have one bad song on it (exept maybe "The streets is callin'"). It has songs taken off his albums: "Way 2 Fonky", "Safe + Sound", "Quik Is The Name", "Under The Influence, "Balance + Options" & "Rythym-Al-Ism". DJ Quik has to be one of the most underrated rappers ever, and one of the most underrated producers ever. If you do not have this album I highly...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great best of album, October 29, 2004

This cd has Quik's all time greats on here. Could have been made a 2 disc cd and still got a 5 star rating. There are a few songs I'd have liked to see on here and one in particular I don't think should have been on here but nevertheless this album delivers some fire and has some of his best works on it. Check it out you will like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quik's "Greatest Hits" Review, November 8, 2003

In my opinion, no talent in hip-hop has been more overlooked than the legendary DJ Quik. For well over a decade, this rapper/producer/songwriter has been dropping slept-on classics with some of the very best production work I've ever heard. This greatest hits compilation features just a taste of some of Quik's very best work from the infamous "Sweet Black P--sy" to "Dollaz + Sense", his nasty diss record against fellow Compton rapper, M.C. Eiht. This album also features his talented roster of regulars such as 2nd II None, Suga Free, AMG, and his departed comrade, Mausberg.

While any longtime Quik fan may not quite agree with the choices here, there are some good picks. The feel-good summertime anthem, "Summer Breeze" is a nice selection as Quik remnices over a laid-back beat about the good ol' days. "You'z A Ganxta" is Quik's call for peace as he denounces his gangbanging ways in a moving tribute to Tupac and Biggie. Bangin' party cuts like "Tonite" and "Down, Down, Down" should certainly get some plays from anyone who like rap on a little bit of a funk tip.

If you've never felt compelled to pick up a DJ Quik album before, this might be a good place to start. Those who already own all of Quik's albums get two bonus never-before-heard tracks though that might not be enough of an incentive. I would have like to have heard a few rare remixes or B-sides on here such as the classic "Can't F--k With A N--ga" off the Menace II. Society soundtrack but hey, what are you gonna do?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent, July 14, 2003

I just got onto DJ Quik heavily within the last year. In the past years I always heard his music and liked it, but I wouldn't buy it because he never got much play over here in the south. The music I did hear from him I enjoyed. So I took a gamble and bought this greatest hits album and despite the fact that some of the songs came out a few years ago, they're still bangin'. I like DJ Quik and I guess I should have checked him out a long time ago. I like west coast music and I love mid 90's music and this is a classic album. I wish the Tony Tone Toni song was in here cause that was a classic too. But the songs on here are all great anyway. I especially love the song Streets Iz Callin' and the MC Eiht diss Dollaz + Sense. I have been bumping it non-stop over the last few days. For Quik fans it is a must have and I wouldn't let anyone borrow this.

5.0 out of 5 stars DJ Quik is tha Name, July 5, 2004

I've been listenin to rap for over 10 years now. Predominantly west coast music and DJ Quik has always been one of my favorites. With his laid back G-Funk beats and his dope rhymes on the mic, he's one of the most talented figures in hip-hop. All his albums are classic but i'm sure many people have overlooked Quik so i'd seriously recommend this album to anyone just getting into him. Its got some of the best bangin tracks from all 6 of his albums.

This cd is good because it follows him throughout his whole career and displays his different sounds ranging from the laid back hit "Tonite" to the newer, harder track "Speed". My personal favorites though are the tracks from his earlier albums. Nothing beats that early 90's G-Funk sound on songs like "Tonite" and "Safe+Sound".

So Get this cd! New Fans, Old fans it don't matter. I've been a fan since his early debut but with all the dope songs scattered among 6 cds this is a nice way to have all of them on one disc. And theres two new tracks. The dope "Streetz is Callin" and staying true to the tradition of getting a new Quiks Groove for every cd we get Groove number VII which is real nice and laid back actually one of my favorite songs.

So cop this cd and prepare to be amazed.

Great production, pretty good lyrics for the most part, and overall entertaining.

DJ Quik is a true emcee and producer. A real damn entertainer. Everything on here is different and nice highlighting the best of the legend's career.

It's a shame he never really blew up like other Westcoast emcees. He in my opinion is one of the most underated rap artists of all time. He has such a unique voice and nobody can really portray anything like his correctly...except him of course.

From old skool to more recent times, this guy is a great element to rap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Most Underrated Producer/Artist of All Time, January 7, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Best of DJ Quik: Da Finale (Audio CD)
Dj Quik is a westcoast legend. This CD represents straight classic hits from Dj Quik's catalogue of music. Songs like "Dollaz & Sense" which dissed Mc Eiht back in the day is a straight westcoast classic. Other great hits include: 'Trouble'ftg AMG, 'Hand in Hand', 'So Many Wayz' and the party banger "Pitch In Ona Party".

This CD is a must have!!!!! By the long time Compton WestCoast Veteran "Dj QUik." Also check out the new Nate Dogg album (being released in February 2003) which features tracks produced by Dj Quik.

If you didn't already know that DJ Quik is one of the top 3 producers all-time, just listen to this CD. It's all new to me, I have all of his albums. Listen to his first 3 albums all the way through, you won't want to skip a song. So, if you're out to prove that DJ Quik isn't one of the best rap artists in the game, listen to this CD.
