Danny Kaye. What can I say, the man is a legend, his work will live in our hearts for many years to come. This video is kind of a summary of his work. This video was put togeather by his daughter, Dana Kaye and it's just excelent. Here you can see many short acts performed by Kaye. You can see some even from his movies. Lucy Ball does one act with him and many other famous actors. If you have an interest in Danny Kaye you HAVE TO OWN THIS VIDEO. I personaly have bought 3. 1 for my grandfather, one for me and one for my friend. You will laugh with Lucy Ball, Danny Kaye and Louis Armstrong.
May you live forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Master Comedian, June 24, 2004
This review is from: The Best of Danny Kaye [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have loved Danny Kaye and his work since I was in junior high. It all began with "White Christmas." I then began to be interested in all his movies, and it really hit me hard when he died. This video shows some of his best stuff. I had seen the video a few years back, but now having seen it again, I enjoyed it more than I remembered. The music is awesome, and the comedy is perfect! I highly recommend this for any Danny Kaye fan!

THE BEST OF DANNY KAYE: THE TELEVISION YEARS was compiled by his daughter Dena from broadcast videotapes of Danny's TV show, which had a four-season run (1963-67) on the CBS network, and from a 1962 one-hour special, "The Danny Kaye Show with Lucille Ball," the first in-color TV appearance for Lucy.

Considering their age, these most entertaining program highlights are in marvelous condition. Nine of the twenty TV clips are in color. Best are a calypso number with Harry Belafonte, an hilarious skit with Harvey Korman, a rousing scat-filled number with Satchmo, Danny and piano performing songs from his beloved children's album and a couple of patter pieces written by Danny's wife, Sylvia Fine. Kaye's talent for accents is featured. (Also included are excerpts of a 1956 motion picture.)

If you're a Danny Kaye fan, this 79 minute pastiche is certain to delight. Highest recommendation!
