The voice is great, the material is lacking,

Deborah has simply one of the most original voices in the music business. But contrary to the title, it's not necessarily the "Best of" Deborah. The new version of "Baby, I Lied" is stunning, as are the songs "Am I Good For One More Memory," "I Was Born And Raised In Your Arms," and "Goodbye Love." Unfortunately, they're all slow songs. Her attempt at up-tempo numbers like "Under the Influence of Love" and "Make Love True" was actually quite sad...I know she can do them, she's proved it on Delta Dreamland and All That I Am. The up-tempo songs just don't cut it. If you know and love Deborah Allen, then buy this record...even if just for the ballads. But if you're not a big fan and you're just trying to get a feel for who Deborah is, then pick up Anthology, Delta Dreamland, or All That I Am. If you like what you hear after that, then yes, I'd recommend this album. I had to give her three stars simply because the lady is talented...her material is slacking on this project, but you can't deny that she is one of the coolest chicks around.

Disappointed,

Most of the songs on this CD are much different than her original released singles and radio cuts. It is a good CD but would rather have had her original recordings.
