This is a practical book albeit focused somewhat on master planned communities. For a more indepth interpretation of where Ewing gets his ideas read his earlier and much rougher first book on successful master planned communities. Reid writes a pretty practical book which can bridge the gap from theory gleened from city center design to that which can be applied to the suburbs. A very good read with practical advice for the suburban practitioner
