I know what You're thinking...."I have a Supremes best of, and a Diana Ross best of (or You have the #1's CD), I don't need this, and I'm scared by the Hefty Import Price Tag"....Right? Ok, Good argument but here's why it falls flat... This is a 2 CD Set, one CD contains 24 Supremes cuts, all with Diana Ross (unlike that #1's CD), in glorious Sound, smartly omitting one Top 10 Hit ("in and out of love", the One Supremes Song that I find annoying), and serving up all the remaining Hits, big and small...CD 2 contains 80 minutes of Great Diana Ross, including some album Cuts, for instance, 2 Gems from the Touch Me in the Morning CD that is OOP....it has "My Mistake" with Marvin Gaye, rarely found on a Diana Ross Compilation, yet is one of Her best Tunes; the closing Song "if we hold on together" is Diana's best, Post-1981, in this Reviewer's Opinion...You can see the CD insert Photo, it is a gorgeous Picture of Diana Ross, and as Japanese Cd's do, all the songs have enclosed lyrics. Outstanding Package! Now, in full disclosure, the Songs "Aint no Mountain High Enough" and "Love Hangover" are the single Edits, not the longer Album versions many of Us prefer, but I know of no other CD Set where I can drop the laser down, without programming, and hear 48 good-to-Great Songs, again, in excellent Sound, and Don't overlook the Photography!

This is the one to own and with superb digital remastering a must have collection....Grab it Now or forever hold thy Mouse.

After seeing Diana Ross perform live in May this year and reading some of the reviews on here I decided to purchase this album, and I wish I did that earlier. This is without a doubt the best Diana Ross collection available. A deluxe 2-disc set, covering Ross' Motown career, before she left the label in 1981.
Disc 1 focuses on Ross' career with the Supremes and has every song you could possibly want on a Supremes collection. Disc 2 focuses on Diana's solo years with Motown. As the final track it also includes 'If we hold on together', which on release became the best selling foreign single ever in Japan.
Furthermore, the packaging is top-notch, including all song lyrics in an exquisite booklet.
What's even more important is the sound quality. I've never heard these songs sound better than on this collection.
Since this is a Japan-only release, the price may be a bit higher than the average Diana Ross collection, but don't let that put you off. This is the essential compilation to own, with one classic track after the other.
I might add, the sensual sleeve pic is reason enough to merit its purchase.

"The Best of DIANA ROSS" (Japanese import) is extraordinary! The graphics are outstanding (especially the stunning cover pose) and the 48 tracks digitally remastered are nothing less than superb!! Featured on this 2-cd set are the finest songs recorded by DIANA ROSS!! Bravo!!
