I bought this album mainly for the song "The Mountain's High", which upon listening, evoked wonderful, soulful feelings from my childhood.

A pleasant surprise awaited me as this album revealed the range of material they were able to handle. The gospel flavored "All My Trials" was quite soothing. The powerful voice of Dee Dee was perfection in their hits, "The Mountain's High" and "Thou Shalt Not Steal". An unexpected treat was the "Blue Turns To Grey" Rolling Stones hit, which here, was actually backed by the Stones' band, with a nice guitar solo by Keith Richards. It sounds quite contemporary and could probably survive some airplay even in today's jaded top 40 market. I loved this cut, as it really shows the high level of musical talent, and great voices that Dick and Dee Dee possessed. I must note that in the case of Dee Dee's singular voice, a little goes a long way!

I wished that Dick and Dee Dee had done more of! the edgier rock tunes that they were quite capable of performing. A few of the selections contained in this album are quite lame.

All in all, this album would appeal to the Baby-Boomer set, and those who enjoy the music from that era.

Dick and DeeDee, a long forgotten act from the 60s, never sounded better. The harmonies of these two were eerie enough to produce goosebumps! This CD shows their incredible style and describes "teen love and emotions" that every baby boomer can relate to and remember. Their music is reminiscent of the Gene Pitney style of singing about heartbreak.

I was the president of the midwest Dick & DeeDee fan club. I wrote them a letter when I first heard Mountains High and later would get letters from DeeDee. We'd talk on the phone and I'd put out a newsletter for club members. I got to meet them twice--once in Milwaukee and again in Appleton, Wisconsin. They were remarkable performers and this CD is fabulous. I wish however, they had included some of Dick's solo recordings. I've heard Dick did some revival shows with a new DeeDee. Does anyone know what they're doing now?

While Dick & Dee didn't leave the musical impressions of an Elvis or the Beatles , they none the less left a big impression on my heart.

While in high school in the early '60's , my girlfriend and I made a pair of their hits "our songs": "Tell Me" and "Young and in Love".

These weren't cutting edge hits , just lovely songs that cut through to your emotions if you were 16 and "Young & in Love"

Dee Dee Sperling was always a "babe". And I wonder what she's doing all these years later.

I BECAME A DICK AND DEE DEE FAN THE FIRST TIME I HEARD "THE MOUNTAIN'S HIGH".WHEN I HEARD THEM DO "TELL ME" AND "WHEN YOU'RE YOUNG AND IN LOVE" I BECAME AN EVEN BIGGER FAN!THEY JUST BLEW ME AWAY WITH THAT ELECTRIFYING BLEND OF HARMONIZATION. THEY MADE YOU FEEL THEY REALLY WERE IN LOVE AND THAT'S WHY THEY SOUNDED SO GREAT.I WISH THEY HAD RECORDED MORE BALADS.JUST THINK WHAT THEY COULD'VE DONE WITH "SOUL AND INSPIRATION" AND SOME OF THE STUFF THE RIGHTOUS BROS. DID (NOT THAT THEY WEREN'T GREAT TOO).I DEFINETELY RECOMMEND THIS C.D.THEY'RE A COMBINATION OF SWEET AND POLISHED ONLY WITH ALOT OF SOUL.

I was not impressed with the sound quality of this CD. I did not think that it sounded like the original. I would not recommend this product.

..Dick St. John died in 2002 after falling of his roof..and just like a woman..Dee Dee went out and got herself another Dick to keep the cash flow going..!

Their music had an edge to it and the harmonies are fabulous. There is no group out there with a sound close to this now. The Mountain's High is the best on the album and I can listen to it over and over - and do - a lot. It reminds me of a very special someone whose birthday happens to be today, May 12th. Happy Birthday, BP, and this song is especially for you.

Ah, the memories! Listening to the oldies restores a moment of youth, if fleeting. Dick and Dee Dee were early innovators of double-tracking their voices. When you listen to their music, you're actually hearing four voices, all from the two singers. Many fans have mistaken Dee Dee for the "powerful voice" in their recordings, whereas it was actually Dick singing in his falsetto. But this recording technique made their trademark sound. Check out some of their TV appearances on YouTube, or Dee Dee's recent book, "Vinyl Highway."

This is the BEST of the BEST. Dick St John lives on with these songs. Dee Dee is still around to recreate the memories.
