5.0 out of 5 stars This budget CD contains the origional LP "Rain Or Shine"
One of Haymes best sessions (other then 1957's "Moondreams") he sings ballads in way that will simply knock you out, the best thing about this budget cd is that it contains all 12 songs from the classic capital 1955 LP "Rain Or Shine"(Capital T-713). Buy this one, I'm sure Mel Torme had this one in his music library.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could Have Been Better!
I have been a Dick Haymes fan for a few years now and when I got this CD, I expected these 12 songs would be the original recordings. Instead, I get these trashy 1950s re-recordings and believe me, he sounds pretty worn out and lifeless. Haymes was probably at his best when he was singing with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey. Probably the ONLY good song on this CD is "Love...

The equal of any of Sinatra's Capitol concept albums, this is a straight reissue of "Rain Or Shine," Capitol T-713, ca. 1955. Together with Dick Haymes' second Capitol album, "Moondreams," this is essential to every collection of Great American Standards. Thanks to Mike Curb for this thoughtful release. Note that both albums are in the current EMI set of complete Capitol recordings.

Dick Haymes had a most pleasing voice and is well worth listening to on cd's and such. The ballads of course of from the 1940's but well arranged and conducted.

I have been a Dick Haymes fan for a few years now (since I was 10) and when I got this CD, I expected these 12 songs would be the original recordings. Instead, I get these trashy 1950s re-recordings and believe me, he sounds pretty worn out and lifeless. Haymes was probably at his best when he was singing with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey and throughout most of the 1940s. Probably the ONLY good song on this CD is "Love Walked In." And just as a side note, this CD features the original LP of "Come Rain Or Come Shine." Does he sound lifeless on this? Yes. Badly.

And so I wont be accused of plagiarism, this is the same person who wrote the March 26, 2005 paragraph. I am 15 now. I live in Milford, New Hampshire.
