Depends on what your looking for....,

You know it kills me how resistant people are to change. Bands change. Music changes. Life is change. Roll with it. I became a Doobie Bros. fan back in the 70's when Black Water hit the radio. I got the first "Best of the Doobies" (Vol. 1) album and I absolutely loved it! Great album! Good rock and roll! Then as music changed and evolved so did the Doobies. They became more of a contemporary pop/rock band than a southern rock and roll band. If you're looking for an album more like the first volume you're not going to get it. This is the softer poppier side of the Doobies. If you like good contemporary pop/rock from the late 70's early 80's era this is a great album!

like them, but love them after Michael Mcdonald joined,
This review is from: Best of the Doobies, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
for me Michael Mcdonald was the best thing to ever happen to the Doobie Brothers.Michael Mcdonald brought the soul to them and the Grooves started to pour in. this compilation is my favorite era of the Doobies. so many cuts on here that still hit home and I was grooving to the tape just the other day."what a fool believes" alone speaks to where I feel about them with Michael Mcdonald.classic era there.

Not for real Doobie fans!,

You can put Doobie fans into two catagories. Those who love the Doobies like me and those who love Michael McDonald. When Tom Johnson, cofounder of the Doobies got Sick and had to leave the band McD. joined and the whole sound of the band changed. The band quickly became nothing more than a backup band to Mcdonald. Yes they were still a very popular "Pop Band" but the original Doobie Brothers were pure "Rock and Roll".
I had this CD and listened to it once and gave it away. Ive been to see the Doobies several times in the last few years and trust me this is still one of the best Rock and Roll bands on the planet and Johnson has been back since the mid 80's. If you want to hear some good Doobie music buy "Live at the Wolftrap" or the "Wildlife Concert" CDs. Or even better go see them live. They will "Rock Your World"
