I have been following the group for some time and when I found this compilation immediately went to buy it. All the great piesces are there (for a 1 CD compilation that is) and the icing on the cake is the last track , šLong way from Brooklinš. I hope that you will ejoy it as I do every time I listen to it.

This is a good CD for those who miss the early success of Down to the Bone or who did not overdue it with every release, just because it was Down to the Bone. Each project after "From Manhattan to Staten" became less and less a gemstone. However, a few good nuggets like the mellow 'Black Choice' found on this compilation should be enough to satisfy the Down to the Bone curious and any skeptics. The top funk choices of course are "Brooklyn Heights, 'Staten Island Groove', 'Electric Glide', 'Zodiac', and 'I'll always hold you close' which is reminiscent of some old school funk (Happiness is just around the bend) from Brian Augur. ~the JazzeOne

While on vacation I stumbled across a concert given by Down to the Bone at Lake Tahoe. Absolutely awesome performance and this CD has captured the best of it and their other CD's as well.

When I first heard "From Manhattan to Staten" I thought that Down to the Bone had a lot of potential but after listening to this "Best Of" CD it's obvious that their potential is limited.

Yes they have a few infectious hooks and the groove is steady but it becomes rather lethargic after a while.

I Am Not A Overly Big Fan Of This Group, So Buying Their CD's Was Not Really On My Must Buy List! However, Some Of Their Music Is Very Good And Enjoyable To Listen To. The Release Of Their Best Of CD, Was A Timely Thing For Me And Just The Right Amount Of Down To The Bone For My Tastes. A Very Enjoyable CD!

I immediately ordered this CD for my brother as a Father's Day gift. I didn't expect anything less from this group...they are true artist at their craft.

This CD, while stacked with great songs, only cracks the surface of the great jams this band has put out. Every one of their CDs could be a "best of". If you like what you hear on this compilation, buy em all... you will not be disappointed.

I've liked this band for quite a few years and this CD is a great compilation of their best. Love it!

This is the type of "House Music" you could sit on in in New York back in the '70-80's. Really great stuff!
