4.0 out of 5 stars Great
Great hike guide for those looking for easy, quick walks in the SNP. Highly recommended esp for families with young kids.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy for Kindle...Buy the "Real" Book.
The content of this book listed many easy hikes. What the title should also mention is that most of the hikes are very short. If you have every done any day hiking, you know that "easy" can include "lengthy". If you are looking for day hikes that actually take a good part of the day, this book is not for you. The content of this book listed many easy hikes. What the title should also mention is that most of the hikes are very short. If you have every done any day hiking, you know that "easy" can include "lengthy". If you are looking for day hikes that actually take a good part of the day, this book is not for you. However, if you are driving Skyline Drive and just want to stretch your legs a bit or only have an hour or two, this book is perfect. The directions are clear and easy to read with nice explanations of what you will see along the trail with some history thrown in for good measure.

My not-so-good rating is not for the content of the book itself, however. I love my Kindle, but my poor rating is strictly for the Kindle version I purchased. The links in the table of contents did not work. No matter what hike I clicked on, the link brought me to the same location, which is the last paragraph of the introduction. This kind of book is meant to flip back and forth through, something you cannot do easily on Kindle (especially with the links not working). Unless you write down the location of a particular hike that interests you, there is no easy way to get back to it. The maps are supposed to be in color and the topography is color-coded, which our Kindles cannot show. Not that it matters, because the maps are so small you cannot read them. Also, if you are the type of hiker who tears out the hike to take along, and then stuffs it back in the book later, you just cannot tear the pages out of a Kindle :-)

It is a nice book. Just be sure to buy it the old fashioned way.
