Brilliant album
After his stint as leader of The Raspberries, Eric Carmen had a succesful solo career. "All by myself" is from Carmen's solo debut album from 1975. One of his most successful songs, it has since been covered by numerous artists. All of the songs on this album were written by Carmen except "Hungry Eyes" from the movie 'Dirty Dancing'. I want "All by Myself" as album version...
This CD has most hit songs. However, if you prefer album version(7 min. long) of the "All by Myself", don't buy this. You will probably get the version only from "Eric Carmen" album. I love the piano solo part of the song.

After his stint as leader of The Raspberries, Eric Carmen had a succesful solo career. "All by myself" is from Carmen's solo debut album from 1975. One of his most successful songs, it has since been covered by numerous artists. All of the songs on this album were written by Carmen except "Hungry Eyes" from the movie 'Dirty Dancing'. Eric Carmen has an unerring sense of melody and songcraft that has resulted in some of the best pop rock ever. Just try not to dance to "That's Rock 'n Roll"...impossible. "She Did It" is the greatest Beach Boy song that Brian Wilson never wrote, and "It hurts Too Much" has a Phil Spector-like power to it. This album is a must for music lovers. If you're a fan of Billy Joel and/or Barry Manilow, you will love this album.

A very good singer/performer, get his "Eric Carmen" too!, August 6, 2007

The first time I heard "All By Myself" back in 1976, it made me immediately remind of Barry Manilow's great superhit "Could It Be Magic".
Even when Eric Carmen and the great BM have some similar chords, they aren't exactly the same kind of performers. Being previously with The Raspberries, Carmen is greatly influenced by Rock'n'Roll music.
If you cannot get this Carmen's "Best of", I would suggest you to get his "Eric Carmen" by Rhino instead, you'll be equally satisfied!!!
