More complete than the domestic best-ofs, February 27, 2011

I bought this to get "Baby I Need Your Lovin'", "It Hurts Too Much", and "Reason To Try", which are not included on his other hits discs. Of course, this one is missing "Hungry Eyes", "I Wanna Hear it From Your Lips" (which turned up on "The Lost 45's of the '70's and '80's") and "I'm Through With Love" (which has turned up nowhere). Eric Carmen made some very catchy pop-rock records in the late '70's but for some reason rarely surfaced in the '80's. "Hungry Eyes" and "Make Me Lose Control" (the latter of which is included here) were huge comeback hits, but surprisingly there were no followups. He is worth looking into, as is the group with which he recorded in the earlier '70's, the Raspberries.
