"A wonderful range of stories that tell erotic tales of new love, the fears accompanying the start of a marriage, pregnancy, stolen moments from child-rearing, the antidote to stagnation in a relationship, the pain of broken dreams and the fear of commitment."

From the Back Cover
From fresh, new love to long-term committed relationships, the erotic, romantic stories in this collection crackle with emotion, passion and edge. In Donna George Storey's "First Night," Sophie worries needlessly that getting married will dampen her prolific sex life with Justin. A chance encounter at a truck stop leads to a morning tryst between strangers who drive off together in Craig J. Sorensen's "The Draft." Strip away the ties and toys from a kinky sex life and what's left? Heidi Champa answers that question in "Another Trick up My Sleeve."
The scorching hot sensuality and the happily-ever-after (or happy-for-now) endings in Best Erotic Romance will leave you satisfied and delighted. Award-winning romance writer and editor Kristina Wright and her ensemble of gifted contributors have crafted stories that will linger in your memory for a long, long time.
With contributed stories by Sylvia Day, Donna George Storey, Heidi Champa, Delilah Devlin, Saskia Walker, Justine Elyot, Angela Caperton, Andrea Dale, Kate Dominic, Craig J. Sorensen, Shanna Germain, Emerald, Kate Pearce, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Erobintica, Kristina Wright, and Nikki Magennis.

A thought-provoking and entertaining gamut of tales that encompass all stages of romance. A wonderful range of stories that tell erotic tales of new love, the fears accompanying the start of a marriage, pregnancy, stolen moments from child-rearing, the antidote to stagnation in a relationship, the pain of broken dreams and the fear of commitment. A enjoyable reminder that romance and eroticism are synergistic and healthy elements of a relationship.

As with most anthologies, certain tales elevate the form and avoid sex scene cliches better than others. Blame It On Facebook is such an example: here, we don't have the usual emotional infidelity narrative, but a life-like reunion of a war widow who finds warmth, affection and really good sex in the arms of a long ago family friend. It's relevant for the times and hot enough to keep you wondering about your own long ago unrequited crush.
Disclaimer: this book puts romance center stage, and if your own relationship is lagging in this area, you might find yourself pining away for one of the sexy beasts in Wright's collection. She must have had an exquisite selection to choose from, and/or the authors were really primed to the task, because each is well written, blending sensual language with settings that feel fresh and creative.
Angela Caperton's "Guest Services," Andrea Dale's "Memories for Sale," and Emerald's "Honey Changes Everything"--all very different from each other--are just three examples of tales in which the sexual narratives carry the reader away with their luscious, engulfing beauty. Shanna Germain's "To Be in Clover" demonstrates how a literary master can make first-class magic with a light hand; it's a new favorite piece for me from this author. Erobintica's "Till the Storm Breaks," not only hot but also warm, made me giddily happy. And I don't know quite how she did it--maybe it's something to do with the deft changes in point of view--but Nikki Magennis wrote an offbeat erotic story, "Dawn Chorus," in which the inevitable climax somehow took me by surprise, coalescing in the midst of artful, fevered tangles of narrative motion--which I found astoundingly lifelike.
I've just scratched the surface of the collective talent that makes this book what it is: the table of contents also includes such favorites as Donna George Storey, Heidi Champa, Saskia Walker, Justine Elyot, Craig J. Sorensen, Kate Pearce, Rachel Kramer Bussel, and of course editor Kristina Wright. Again, this is an anthology not only to read but to treasure.
These happily-ever-after or happy-for-now stories are varied; from brand new couples to those that have been together for years, readers are bound to identify with at least one tale. My particular favourites were Blame it on Facebook by Kate Dominic and The Draft by Craig J. Sorensen. Both were very different stories, but both were seriously sexy and left me grinning.
Some of the stories in Best Erotic Romance are more romantic than others, but they're all extremely erotic and will have you fanning yourself in no time at all. So if you're looking for an erotic read where there are interesting storylines, and the characters mean more to one another than just sex, then you should definitely add this book to your to be read list.

This is dribble. There is nothing erotic - no mystery trite descriptions. There is nothing romantic - air heads at best. I'm embarrassed to have offered money.Published on June 20, 2012 by SamPatterson
