Proper Mattress Cover Installation Protocol: 1. Make sure the mattress is clean and dry before installation. If necessary, clean with a mild soap and water. Then, dry. Do not use cleaners containing chemical bleaches or sterilizing agents. 2. Place cover on a flat surface with the instructions face up. Slide the mattress in the cover through the slit running the length of the cover. 3. Center the mattress in the cover. Peel off the adhesive strips at each end and carefully fold ends up to adhere them to the cover. Keep the cover tight against the mattress. 4. Turn the mattress over and place in the crib. Make sure the printed side of the cover and the ventilation slit are face down. Choose Proper Bedding Materials: 1. Use a 100% cotton blanket on top of the covered mattress. 2. On top of the cotton blanket, place a 100% cotton fitted sheet and a 100% cotton over-blanket. 3. Do not use the following bedding items: Sheepskin or any product containing sheep fleece. Waterproof or moisture resistant mattress pads or protectors. Any blanket or other swaddling product containing acrylic or polyester. Sleeping bags, duvets, quilts, pillows or cushions.

What you get is a sheet of plastic that is somewhat difficult to attach to the mattress, but not impossible. Once it's on and you feel like you've done what you can, you can move on and worry about other things instead.
I have a reflux baby and reflux babies often prefer to sleep on their side or belly (or flat out refuse to sleep on their backs!). Being familiar with the New Zealand study and toxic gas theory, this mattress wrap gave me piece of mind when putting my baby to sleep on his side or tummy.
It was easy to put on, directions were clear. And it's not nearly as loud as I was lead to believe. It's been on my son's crib mattress since he started sleeping in the crib so he's never known any different and the noise from it doesn't seem to bother him at all.
I did not love the experience of putting it on the crib mattress. I realize this is not a huge deal, and trust me, I've not lost any sleep over it, but sealing this thing tightly around the crib mattress was just a bit more of a hassle than I bargained for with my 34-week baby belly. It is a bit bigger (wider and longer) than the Serta mattress we are using, so there was folding and wrapping involved, much like if you were trying to wrap baby's mattress tightly and neatly in wrapping paper. The problem was the adhesive on the ends - it didn't work. I don't know if I got an old one that was sitting around a warehouse for a long time or what, but this adhesive strip would not stick to the plastic for anything. So, out came the Scotch tape. Not sure what, if anything, that does to the functionality of the product, but this mattress cover wasn't going on without some other type of adhesive. So, in effect, I did wrap the mattress like a present, using slippery, stiff, awkward wrapping paper. Also, because the bag was so much bigger than the standard mattress we're using, I was unsure how big to leave the slit on the bottom. Was it OK if it was overlapped? Should I make sure to leave it wide open? No guidance in the instructions, so it just is how it is.Read more ›

Not what I expected and a little loud (it is plastic and you can hear movement on the mattress). I guess to get a good tight fit it comes with open ends that you tape closed (with... Read morePublished 13 days ago by Katherine B.
Does it actually work? I think that's hard to tell, but it gives me peace of mind. We cut the cover in half and taped it to use on our bassinet mattress.Published 24 days ago by P. Tomasello
Didn't realize that the bag wouldn't cover the entire mattress. Not super happy about it as I expected the entire mattress to be covered.Published 1 month ago by Dayna A.
I am pretty unimpressed with this cover. I bought this as an additional safeguard to cover my pvc-free mattress, however, the provided adhesive did not work at all so I ended up... Read morePublished 2 months ago by Sunbeam
Fits perfectly fine on my 51.63"L x 27.25"W x 5.25"H crib mattress (sealy precious rest model) dont notice really any noise when running my hand across itPublished 5 months ago by Richard L.
This thing is weird and hard to get on right but I'm so worried about SIDS I left it anyway. Problem is when it's not on super tight I worry it could suffocate the baby.Published 6 months ago by Rachael Jameson
Doesn't fit my standard sized mattress very well. Requires a lot of folding to prevent wrinkling.Published 7 months ago by Lethologica
