5.0 out of 5 stars Best Fake Book I have found
I hunted all through the Hal Leonard site and I couldn't evencome up with any fake book that had "How Sweet It Is" init. This book has everything from "What a Wonderful World" to "Blue Skies." I have never found such a complete book. If you are looking to find some songs to entertain with, this book has all the songs you'll need. You will...

2.0 out of 5 stars I Expected Better
I bought this book and thought "Wow!!! All those songs for that cheap". I got it and realized the reason for the price. The book itself is just a bunch of self-transcribed songs that were thrown together. I expected them to be accurate and a lot of them weren't. It frustrates me that I spent my money on something that wasn't worth it. I threw this out and ended up buying...

I have never found such a complete book. If you are looking to find some songs to entertain with, this book has all the songs you'll need. You will recognize more songs in the book then you can memorize. I am excited to have it, and I really can never stop opening it up and playing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great library for small musical groups, August 23, 2007
This review is from: The Best Fake Book Ever: B-flat Edition (Plastic Comb)
I have ten fake books that I use with my duo/trio. This book is as good as any book you can buy. I find most of the charts are in the original key which helps when your keyboard man play from memory. GREAT BOOK

Great book for all levels. I've been playing tenor sax for a few months and wanted something with a ton of variety. I unbound the book to help taking it to lessons more manageable. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have a resource that spans genres, time, and taste.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Fake Book Ever -- Bb, December 21, 2009

I play Tenor Sax and started a Cover Band recently for fun and profit. Needed to quickly build band's song catalog. This book provided just that. To be honest, the songs listed in the book's description really didn't grab my attention! However, my thinking was this. "Over a 1,000 songs, there has got to be at least 100 that covers R&B, Pop, Smooth Jazz and Blues." I was right! For the money, you can't beat this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Binding hard to balance on music stand., May 30, 2008
This review is from: The Best Fake Book Ever: B-flat Edition (Plastic Comb)
This book is about 2" thick and with the type of binding on the book, it is hard to put on a music stand. Otherwise a great book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe not that great for trumpet..., January 5, 2005
By
This review is from: The Best Fake Book Ever: B-flat Edition (Plastic Comb)
I'm just getting started playing the trumpet again after a 48 yr. break. I bought this book because of the large number of songs and being written in b flat. True there are a lot of songs that are newer and not so many standard "oldies". However, that's not my main concern. A lot of songs just don't sound that good on the trumpet and some are written with notes so low that they sound terrible. There are some great trumpet pieces such as "When Sunny Gets Blue", "Misty", etc., but you have to wade through a lot of others to get to the good ones. I have some other Leonard fake books for the keyboard and they are just fine but look for some other music for the trumpet.
