Editorial Reviews

In 2011, Grammy Award winning guitarist Peter Frampton embarked on a world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of his multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive!. Many of the concerts were recorded and for this triple CD release Peter Frampton has chosen what he feels are the best performances of each track. The set contains the classic Frampton Comes Alive! album performed in its entirety but also focuses on tracks from Peter Frampton's more recent albums such as Fingerprints, Now and Thank You Mr Churchill along with a nod to his past with the inclusion of the old Humble Pie track I Don't Need No Doctor. Peter Frampton remains one of rock's most iconic guitarists and these live performances catch him at his very best.

Peter's playing was also great, I forgot how well he plays the guitar.

I know, you think Frampton, yeah old man,old music ,tiresome, heard it before, Why don't Peter Frampton just go away?
That's what I thought when I saw his new music C.D. at the local record store. With this kind of thinking I was reluctant to buy it. However after a while of thinking about it, and being a old time Peter Frampton fan, I chose to go on and pick it up.
WOW! I mean WOW!, and am glad I did. This C.D.'s sound quality is great and you get 3 of them, good going Eagle Records you did good. With this set you would think you are getting the old Frampton live C.D.'s music and sound, you know what- you do and a lot, lot more! With this set you get the old Live songs with a boost from Mr. Framptons fantastic music ability that only adds to his earlier great songs.
If that's not enough on the first two C.D.'s, Peter Frampton adds a much more broader musical excellence on the third C.D.
Everybody who sees this review, fan or thinking about becoming a fan, of Peter Frampton, do not be afraid of buying this 3 C.D. set, IT IS A GOOD ONE AT A DECENT PRICE.

What I like about this set is that it isn't recorded (for the most part) in Milwaukee like the companion Blu Ray is. It's taken from numerous stops on the tour. The other great thing is that the transitions between songs make it sound as if it's at one location.

A great set.

after wearing the grooves of my first FCA album and losing the 2nd to a fire and warping of the cassettes, i got it on cd and it followed me around the world including iraq during operation iraqi freedom. now to own the 35th anniversary of that album is totally awesome. pete still sounds great on vocals and his guitar playing is totally the best. great covers of while my guitar gently weeps and black hole sun. his son sounds like a young pete. great set!

WOW This is a great cd/dvd. The backing band is great. I was able to see a couple of shows on this tour, and it really takes back to those shows. Peter Frampton keeps getting better. This set will not disapoint. I would recomend picking up the cd and the dvd

Great 3 cd set. Shows peter's talent on his previous songs as well as new ones. Great guitar and great singing. The best of his concerts in years. Being a follower since his Humble Pie and Herd years, this is his best live recording. Plays his past songs in a new way. You got to have this one!!!

This 3 cd collection is a joy to listen to from beginning to end. Even the slow songs have such energy to them. I have really liked "thank you mr churchill" and his older stuff, But this collection is by far the best live collection ive heard from any artist is a long long time. The songs are fantastic the new energy given to them is terrific and the guitar playing excellent. You can really tell Mr. Frampton is having a great time playing this set. Lets say if you can only buy one of the newer live sets that have been put out for this holiday season THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY. ITS JUST GREAT AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

Peter Frampton is a Gentleman, and one of the truest, most under-appreciated, Guitar Heroes of the 20th century. (OK..."I'm In You" sucked, yeah, but so did MOST of the stuff released around that time: I mean, disco, anyone? And we will be generous and NOT discuss "Sgt. Pepper") I had the unbelievable opportunity to meet him, shortly before an "upstate NY" gig in 1976, just as "Comes Alive" was peaking, and he saw to it that my girlfriend, my guitarist & vocalist, and I had FRONT ROW CENTER seating. I was mostly familiar with "Comes Alive" because we opened our gigs with "Something's Happening" - but when I saw the guy live, I said, "Well...OK...maybe the Stones should have scooped HIM up when Mick T quit."
(and speaking of "Comes Alive," doesn't Stanley Sheldon play bass here?)
But for his absolute, 100% truest, in-your-face "great rockstar guitarist" performance - and you'll have to dig deeply for it - scope out the "Ringo's Fourth All-Starr Band" VHS (yeah...sadly, it's only available on tape), where Frampton joins forces with Jack Bruce from Cream, Commander Gary Brooker of Procol Harum, and Simon Kirke of Free/Bad Company. Just on that one tape, Frampton "takes on" the likes of George Harrison, Eric Clapton (the version of "Sunshine Of Your Love" on "Ringo's 4th" will have you saying "Slow-WHO?"), Robin Trower, Mick Ralphs, and Paul Kossoff, and not only performs their parts note-for-note perfectly, but in some cases, he even trashes the original.
Yeah, I'll acquire "Fca! 35" when I get a little "play money" - and doggone it, next month is Valentine's Day, too. Still, Peter: I just live about an hour and a half nw of you now: if you ever feel like coming by, drinking off a Dos Equis or two, and jamming on acoustic guitars, let me know. I'm ITCHING to play "Tried To Love."
