4.0 out of 5 stars Hi-NRG's Classics Back On Wax
I love everything that Bobby Orlando had released from 1982 through 1987 (the end of "O" Records). In my opinion the Flirts were at the top of their game from 1982 up until 1986. The reason why I give Hot Productions version of the best of the Flirts only four stars is because the songs are not presented in their 12 Inch Disco format. Only a few songs on here are...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's Not All I Expected.....
I'm not as happy about this CD as I wanted to be. Out of 12 songs, I only like four: "Passion", "Calling All Boys", "Jukebox (Don't....", and "New Toy" which were their biggest club hits. If you're a Flirts fan, then I'm sure the entire collection is perfection, but if you're like me and are looking for club music from the 80's, this may not work for you. I'm not...

Only a few songs on here are presented here in the 12 Inch version, and those songs are "You & Me" (1985) and "New Toy" (1985). All of the other songs are here; only they are presented in album version or extended version. Missing 12 Inch Disco cuts are : "Passion", "Calling All Boys", "Jukebox", "Danger", "Helpless", "All You Ever Think About Is Sex" and "Miss You". For anyone who seeks the 12 Inch Versions, seek Unidisc Records version titled "Greatest Hits" by The Flirts.

I'm not sorry I bought it as I love the four songs mentioned above. I'm happy to have them blasting from my car, home and PC, but if you're looking for 12 great songs you know, you will be disappointed. If you can't find "Passion", "Calling All Boys", "Jukebox (Don't....", and "New Toy" on other collections (and you can as I already have), then get this CD, otherwise, only Flirts fans need to get this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic HI-NRG at its best!, August 24, 2001
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
The Flirts get 5 stars from me because of the melodical sound of the 80's. The Flirts packed the Disco's with jams like "Calling All Boys", "Passion", "Helpless", and many more to name....The Flirts can do no wrong, with BOBBY "O" producing their hits, BOBBY "O" is also responsible for groups like "The Flirts", "Waterfront", "Pet Shop Boys", and "Divine"! The Flirts music take me back when i first heard my first CHICAGO MIX from radio station WBMX from the early 1980's. This HI-NRG CD is a must have for your collection....if anyone wants to trade mixes from Chicago, NYC, or Detroit or just talk about this mysterious genre of music email

When I ask for this product, a was think in a classic compilation of High Energy, with some extended and remixed versions, but when a recibed the CD, it disapponted me, with very, very, very short versions that maybe was never listened in a serious radio station with no wishes of be discredited. So, please avoid the possibility of buy this CD.

Warning! I love The Flirts but I never buy CD's from Hot Productions anymore. They both look and sound cheap. It's known among music fans all over the world that the sound quality is awful on their CD's, so stay away from them!

4.0 out of 5 stars the Flirts in Full, May 4, 2000
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
"The Flirts" are three girls (but not always the same three!) brought together by New York disco producer Bobby 'O' in the early 1980's to provide vocals for his trademark thumping hi-nrg sound. Bobby 'O' must have heard and loved "Funky Town" by Lipps Inc, as he seems to have spent most of his career using it as a blueprint for his songs. Luckily, this package gives you a bit of variety as it spans the Flirts five albums, starting with the biggest hit "Passion", which is the best track, after which come some of the more flippant girly numbers like "On The Beach", which aren't really very good for dancing to, but then its back to the winning formula with the steamy "Helpless" and "Danger". The songs are chronological, and you will notice in the later tracks such as "All You Ever Think about Is Sex", when Bobby decided to remake Janet Jackson's "Nasty"! All in all, a fun album, and a great round up of this groups best material.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Flirts Biggest Fan, December 13, 2003
By
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
I think i have got to be the biggest fan of The Flirts. I have actually worn out cd's because i have played them constantly. I have contacted Guiness about setting a record for listening to the same song over and over but they don't do those kind of records. I am also trying to contact Bobby O or The Flirts, i would really like to meet them. I think i have listened to "You and Me" more than 50,000 times just this year alone. That is my all time favorite song, followed by "Miss You" "Crazy Guy" "Jukebox" "Danger" and "After Midnight" The Firts are the Greatest!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Memories, July 19, 2003

What a shame that the O man is still not respected. He worked with not only the Flirts, but with Divine, Roni Griffith and more. His records changed the world of music ie. Danni and JXL. Your style is timeless. Shame nobody puts out a disc with the best of 12"! Thanks Orlando for you limited new tunes from Italy.

1.0 out of 5 stars expecting great memories, but what did i get?, March 22, 2005
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
i ordered this release last week from amazon and couldn't wait to hear it, but when i got it yesterday, i opened up the cd and when the player read the info on the cd, instead of getting 15 tracks of music like i was promised, i got 10 tracks and 44 minutes of spanish ballads! oh, my lord, what in the world happened!? well, i guess you can't hear 'em all, can ya? i'll just be sending this disc back to where it came from and just hope for the best next time. oh, by the way, the one star is not for the flirts music, for that is 5 star material anyway, but just for the shoddy mishap that occurs when you get everything in its package except for the right music.
