"Best Of" Album From the Greatest Unknown Artist Ever,
By
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
I have everything Frankie Miller ever released and although my list of his "Best Of" would be a lot different than what is on this album, it is still a 5 star album. He is that good. All the basics of Frankie's music are here covering most of his albums. For those that haven't heard Frankie, I always described him as a cross between Rod Stewart and Bob Seger but with his own distinct sound. Some are bluesy others more rock, some that have a country sound, and many great ballads. He is one of the all-time greatest voices and was an in-demand song writter. Outstanding combination. Absolutely 5 stars for this album.

Not as good as The Rock,

In this case, living up to the standard set by The Rock, Frankie Miller's consumate bluesy, rock and soul album from the 70's, is nearly impossible. To top it off, only two songs from The Rock make it on to this "best of" set. The Rock is a classic album and anyone who likes their music raw and full of energy should give it a try. Why it doesn't have more reviews on Amazon is amazing to me. This best of set does have a few songs that approach the level of songs on the Rock (With You in Mind, Be Good to Yourself), but several that don't. I love Frankie Miller's album, The Rock, but not so much this one.

Great and sadly overlooked singer,

This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
Frankie Miller is a great rock n roll/soul/blues singer. Just listen to the samples found here. With 17 songs from several albums this item is a great bargain and a great listen all the way through. I have most of these selections on vinyl but I was pleased to find this "Best of"; at such a low price! I also bought the other "Best of" on Amazon. It has some duplication but it's excellent too. I wish someone would put together a quality anthology with rare and live selections included. I'd buy it! You can't go wrong with Frankie Miller.
