Scandalous Sequel to 'The Clique',
By
This review is from: Best Friends for Never (The Clique, No. 2) (Paperback)
The Clique (Massie Block, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory, Alicia Rivera, and, of course, the wannabe, Claire Lyons), are back for another shot at ruling the school. Seventh grade Massie is still the most popular girl at OCD (Octavian Day School), and to prove that, she plans on throwing OCD's first ever boy/girl Halloween party. However, Massie is unsure which is worse, being forced to throw the party with Claire (the un-popular girl who wants to be in), or having to invite the entire grade, even the geeks! Dylan, on the other hand, has finally lost the extra weight she was carrying around, and is now determined to use her new body to catch a new, super-cute guy. Kristen knows one thing, while clothes are for sharing, guys aren't, which is why she plans on catching the guy who Dylan likes, as she likes him as well, and keep him to herself. And she'll do anything it takes. Alicia sees that The Clique is at each others throats, and she plans on taking it over, and being the new hipster her rules OCD. Then there's Claire. Poor, sweet Claire. She doesn't know what she's in for. The Clique is back and more spiteful than ever.
While I have not read the first CLIQUE novel, I was able to understand what was going on with the characters, and keep up with the commentary in BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER, thanks to Lisi Harrison's fantastic way of re-capping what happened in the previous novel. However, after reading BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER, I find myself craving more of THE CLIQUE. Each girl is unique in her own way, while at the same time making sure not to be too unique, as being unique can easily make you an outcast. I found THE CLIQUE to be a juicy new series that will appeal to girls who are too young for Cecily von Ziegesar's popular teen series GOSSIP GIRL, but interested in reading about the goings on in a popular girls clique. Fans of the movie MEAN GIRLS, starring Lindsay Lohan, will find this new pre-teen/teen fiction to be scandalous, but not racy, and find themselves unable to put this book down until the very last word is read. A must-have! Erika Sorocco Book Review Columnist for The Community Bugle Newspaper

The Clique is Back, The Plot is thickening,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Best Friends for Never (The Clique, No. 2) (Paperback)
The Pretty Committee is back, in this great sequel to the already awesome novel, "The Clique".
In this book, the plot takes a wild turn when Massie decieds to beat two girls to having a boy/girl Halloween party. She gets caught up in the spirit, when she and the rest of the Pretty Committee where their hot, new Halloween costumes to school, and get detention. They then have the Halloween party, but one of the girls is not permitted to attend, because of the detention. The party is also not all it's cracked up to be, because Massie finds out her crush likes someone else. Then, the worst happens. Something that might actually tear Massie and Alicia apart... This sequel shows that a great story can keep going on. I highly reccommend this romantic, true, and funny book.

You Can't Put It Down,
This review is from: Best Friends for Never (The Clique, No. 2) (Paperback)
ALL the girls in my school were reading this book and saying how good it was. So I thought I would give it a try, one of the best desicions ever. When I picked up at home my mom had to tell me to stop reading which is a very rare thing let me tell you.
In this book all of these things happen: betral jealousy friendship understanding boy-watching and a lot of shopping After you read this book I bet you will be hooked liked I was. So I suggest when you order this order the whole series.

The Clique is back...,

The Clique is definitely Back in Black Chanel- ahvcourse. Kuh-laire might actually have a life, after all!
Massie is absolutely determined to maintain her position as most popular girl at OCD. So, naturally, she has to host the year's Halloween Blowout-and can't let ANYTHING ruin it. At the same time, Claire's eye is caught by Cam- and little does she know, the feeling is mutual. Claire begins to rise on Massie's terms, while Dylan struggles with weight loss, Kristin struggles with life, and Alicia has a new best friend, Olivia, the nose-jobbed air-head Massie loves to hate. A great addition to the series, and a total must read.

I would highly recommend this book for teenage girls. It deals with most problems teenage girls have. I recommend this book cause it is very interesting. When you start reading , it is hard to stop. the clique good or bad?,
By Alyssa "Emory" (NJ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best Friends for Never (The Clique, No. 2) (Paperback)
This book is about the lives of four girls aka the clique, which consists of massie (the leader of the group), alicia, dylan, and kristin and how they rule at OCD (their middle school). In this book, the second in the series, the clique is slowly falling apart and claire (the new girl living in massie pool house)is just itching to get in. The fact that Kristen and Dylan are after the same guy is making it hard for the clique to stay together, but when alicia leaves the group and finds a new best friend the two new "it" groups at school are just waiting for total dictatorship. This is a pretty good book and you are likley to enjoy it if you like the A-list and Gossip Girl series. You may also find this book the most appealing if you are from 12-15 years old.

I think the clique is a wonderful book. It is so easy to relate to. I think that all girls13 or so should read this book. In this book there are three girls that are super rich and stuck up.A girl named Claire does not fit in and as the book goes on she starts to fit in,after all the backstabing and evil things the girls do to her. Massie a super rich girl drifts away from her friend and they start to fight and argue"alot". Then Claire and Massie start to become veryclose Alisha
Massies "X-best friend" starts to form her own clique"AKA" the pruty club. Massie trys to ruin Aleishea modeling carere and it does not work. Aleishea tells all Massies friends that she told her all of there secrets when really Claires little brother told her. Claire starts to get love notes from Massies crush Cam. What is Claire to do? Should she go out with him or just forget Massie after she worked so hard to get in the "group". What do you think she did read the book to find out!!! Do you think Massie and Aleishea and Massie will make-up after all Aleishea has done? I think that any girl that reads this book will love it and be able to relate to it. I liked that in the book how the author describs everything and all the descripton she gives. It kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole book I can not wait for the 4th book to come out. I think that more books should be wrote like this to intest girls of our age. It was a fun book to read and always had something going on. So in my opion this book is a wonderfull book for middle school girls and maby even high school girls. Magen
