This movie is timeless. I thought it was hilarious when it was first released in the theaters, and found it the same all these years later. Burt Reynolds and Goldie Hawn at their best! I would say, if you enjoyed the movie Grumpy Old Men, you will find this as entertaining. I was so happy to find it on DVD and add it to my library.

Most people I know have not seen this movie. In my opinion, it is very underrated. I love it. What's funny is when they visit each other's parents. Jessica Tandy plays Goldie's mom, and she is wonderful. Goldie doesn't want to sleep with Burt in her old room at her childhood home: "This is my teenage room. It's not for sexual relations, it's for slumber parties."

First of all, the fact that Amazon.com even has this available video, is amazing! I went to a number of different video stores and found it virtually impossible to find! Luckily for all of us, Amazon.com makes it easier than ever to purchase "the hard to find" videos. Secondly, this is the best of the best in Goldie Hawn movies. She is wonderful and Jessica Tandy is unforgettable as her mother. Ron Silver is very funny as the Hollywood Mogul and last but definitely not least, Burt Reynolds does what he does best, comedy!The soundtrack is excellent, with the song at the end of the film, unforgettable. Run, do not walk to purchase this video! and then sit back with some popcorn and enjoy.

Funny, sad, heartwarming. I'm happy to see that Amazon has this movie for sale. The Patty Austin/James Ingram music gives a lovely air to this touching story.

Heartwarming, funny and touching story of a couple where woman (Goldie Hawn) is afraid that marriage will destroy their already loving and stable relationship. Goldie Hawn and Burt Reynolds are both great. I loved this movie. It was very funny at times because it was very realistic and true-to-life. Very entertaining movie! Watch it, you won't be sorry (men and women can enjoy it).

But if you're looking for the scene where Goldie is briefly topless in the shower, forget the DVD. Either the widescreen format cut it off or this is the later edited for TV version. Stick to the original VHS tape version.

Best Friends is an old favorite of mine. I recall watching it for the first time many years ago - and then I watched it whenever it came on Cable TV. Then I got a VHS copy - and you know what has happened to that particular technology.

So, of course, I had to order a DVD. And I enjoyed watching it again.

It's your basic, predictable love story - best friends end up romantically linked and eventually married. But Paula (Goldie Hawn) is afraid to take that step. She is completely sure that marriage will totally ruin a good thing. Richard (Burt Reynolds) persuades her to do it anyway. After all, they've lived together for several years; they are co-writers (of screenplays); and they just bought a big beautiful house in LA.

They marry just before embarking on a journey to see her parents in upstate NY and his in Virginia.

Traveling by train, they are annoyed and cramped by the claustrophobic quarters. Arriving at a snowy destination, they manage to make it through a few days with her parents before driving to see his.

Follow this couple through funny, complicated, and emotional events as they attempt to turn what seemed like a winning partnership into something more - and seem to be failing miserably.

Will their marriage fall apart before it even begins? And what will happen to their previously successful writing partnership?

A fun, light-hearted movie about a serious issue.

This is one of my best Goldie Hawn's movies.
interesting plot ....good feeling ....realistic.
Sweet Goldie and fascinating Reynolds

I remembered this movie from the early 80s, so glad I found it on dvd.

Have always loved this movie. Had it on VHS. Replaced it with this DVD. Burt Reynolds and Goldie Hawn. Romance and Comedy. You can't miss.
