5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Pens fan!, February 25, 2001

This review is from: Best in the Game: The Turbulent Story of the Pittsburgh Penguins' Rise to Stanley Cup Champions (Hardcover)
This book is great! It provides a sentimental and personal insight into the Pens' 1992 Stanley Cup season, complete with many interviews with the players. It is obvious that Molinari cares about the Penguins because of the emotion that this book can bring out in any Penguins fan. A great book to read to relive the early 1990s dominance of the Penguins.

This review is from: Best in the Game: The Turbulent Story of the Pittsburgh Penguins' Rise to Stanley Cup Champions (Hardcover)
After coming off victoriously in winning their first Stanley Cup in the NHL 1990-91 season, the Pittsburgh Penguins remained hungry enough to go back-to-back in winning the Stanley Cup for the Second time. This is the story of how they did it for the man they loved so much who had taken them to the top of the mountain the season before, but was now dying of brain cancer. Coach "Badger" Bob Johnson was the man, and his illness was a cruel blow to his players, but proved to be just one of many blows they would absorb--and overcome--as the 1991-92 NHL season unfolded. Dave Molinari has covered the Penguins as a beat writer for the Pittsburgh Press since 1983. His way of writing makes you feel your right there as its all happening. This book is a must for every Penguins fan and will make you a fan of the Penguins if you haven't found your team yet. SSS
