About the Author

WILLIAM (BILL) ALDRICH is publisher of Chicagoland Gardening, a magazine he founded in 1995. He is a certified Master Gardener and has been a garden writer for more than 20 years, mostly with the Chicago Tribune. Bill is a past-president of the Garden Writers Association and has been on the national executive board of the GWA since 1986. DON WILLIAMSON turned a passion for gardening into his lifeís work, with a varied background in landscaping, golf course construction and management, and now garden writing. He is the co-author of over a dozen books on gardening. Don has extensive experience in the design and construction of garden beds in formal landscape settings. He has a degree in Applied Horticultural Technology and professional certificates in turf management.
