A great compilation-terrific value.,

I have this title on cassette, and I paid more for it than you will this CD with bonus tracks "Jill" and "Sealed With A Kiss". My main reason for buying this compilation was, of course "This Diamond Ring". I wanted to update my old 45 of "This Diamond Ring/My Heart's Symphony". This is a great album-RECOMMENDED. These songs are uptempo-making it great music for the car."This Diamond Ring" and "Count Me In" are the best known classics. But "She's Just My Style", "Everybody Loves A Clown", and "My Heart's Symphony" are just as amazing pop/rock classics. Also interesting and marvelous are "Save Your Heart For Me", "Sure Gonna Miss Her" and "Green Grass". Another advantage to the compilation is that if I wanted to get deeper into their music I can, via more expensive and more in-depth compilations. If you just want the classic hits, (i.e. "This Diamond Ring") THE BEST OF GARY LEWIS & THE PLAYBOYS is perfect.

Gary Lewis' Greatest Hits Are All Here !,

This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
The first 7 songs of this CD represent hits which were played regularly during the Playboys' most popular time, 1965-66. Gary Lewis, the son of comedian Jerry Lewis, was not gifted as a great singer or an extraordinary drummer. He did, however, align himself with a talented group of musicians and background vocalists. The songs are catchy, happy, pop which are instantly enjoyable, and I was amazed at the CD's sound quality. A bargain!

Gettin' back to the "oldies",

The contemporary music does not interest me, I despise rap, the electronic music seems to have run it's course, so until I find another foreign female artist, I'm going back to the "oldies" of the 60's and 70's. Classic, good to listen to. It never will fade or die! Thankfully.
