5.0 out of 5 stars Buy It!!
I recently purchased this cd off of Amazon out of curiousity. Since there was no track listing I anticipated that there would be songs NOT available on other cd compiliations. To my surprise I was RIGHT!! It's a GREAT cd with ALL the hits plus RARE single-only & album cuts. It also contains some of Gary Puckett's solo recordings. This is the BEST compilation I have...

1.0 out of 5 stars One Is A Thousand Too Many
I'd give this and every other CD of Gary Puckett's Greatest Hits a minus one thousand if I could - for leaving off not only the most magnificent track of the original vinyl album but one of the most wonderful songs of all time: "Reverend Posey." It's nowhere to be found on a CD. So I'll stick to my old vinyl - which, ironically, will be around long after all the CD's...

This is the BEST compilation I have EVER seen (since I own just about every one)!! It was somewhat disappointing to me due to the fact that it didn't contain some tracks from "The New Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Album". Such as: "Lullaby", "Simple Man", "Out In The Cold Again". I just hope Gott Discs releases this album along with "The Gary Puckett Album" on cd. All-In-All this is a MUST HAVE cd compilation of "Gary Puckett & The Union Gap"!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I second J. Strausser's motion to buy, June 9, 2005

Is there an echo in here? Yes. I am echoing J. Strausser's advice to you folks to buy this CD. I was a casual fan of the group since their heyday in the late 1960s. I was a huge Beatles-Byrds-Beach Boys-Stones-Motown-Atlantic-Who-CCR-Doors fan. But how could I NOT be knocked out by Gary Puckett's voice? Then there were those top-notch musicians and arrangements on the songs. And those lyrics! I mean, if the singer wasn't worried about a flirty lover, he was worrying about getting caught in an illicit love affair (geez, he coulda been makin' it with one of the girls in my own high school class, and I was already down for the count with a buzz cut, acne and braces) or he was as stuck in one place as a Tupperware lid as he zoned in on a beautiful lady who exuded willpower.

So, yeah, I was a fan of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. I liked enough of their songs that I bought a couple of their vinyl albums and a couple of singles with picture sleeves. By chance I even saw Gary Puckett in the mid '80s when he was on the bill with the Turtles' Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman and the reformed Mamas and Papas (or maybe it was the Association) in a package tour of popular '60s artists (and yes, Puckett sounded great then, too, as did they all that night).

In the Digital Age I'd bought two of the Union Gap's "hits" CDs. Make that three. Because without question, this is the most comprehensive anthology -- and perhaps more important, the best-sounding anthology -- of their work yet. You get all the essential hits, the great B-sides and the fan-favorite album tracks. Soundwise the other anthologies I bought were a bit flat; I had to crank up the volume to work the speakers. And doing so just spotlighted how poorly the discs were remastered. This one is clear and crisp and it rocks. So whether you already have other GP and the Union Gap anthologies or you're finally ready to pop for one, you slowpoke, THIS is the CD to get. But don't just take my word for it; J. Strausser was here first and told you the truth. (By the way, I have numerous other CDs on the Repertoire label -- U.S. and U.K. artists alike -- and they all sound VERY good.)

I would have bet that this CD had noise reduction and remastered by SONY's new system. This CD far out does anything to date. I also have the previous releases by SONY (Columbia / Legacy) this release beats both hands down, beautifully done with the full richness never before available. Well worth the money no matter what you may have. I wish I understood this 2 years ago. It has all the single charters, the only thing is that it's missing one b side. Everything else makes up for this small miss. Buy it!!!!!!

This CD represents the best of Gary Puckett and his group the Union Gap. These guys were one of the best groups of the sixties. Even though they only recorded a few great hits this CD has renditions of other popular songs done as good as the originals. Gary Puckett had a voice with great range.

This is a great CD. Every song that is loved is on this CD. I have been getting many hours of enjoyment from it. It was written up nicely when I was looking for it and knew right a way that this was what I was looking for.

This CD is a masterpiece ! All of Gary Puckett & The Union Gap's best songs are here and are original. The cover gives a good view of the boys in their heyday. I am very pleased with this compilation.
