Gazebo got big during the early 80's due to his hit single "I like Chopin". He's a half Italian song writer(singer, musician) and Gazebo is his real name! His music is pop with a strong electric (synthesizer beat, etc)sound. Most people have heard some elevator version of "I like Chopin", but they probably never bothered to findout who actually wrote it! Listen to the song. It is very beautiful! The rest of the songs on this album such as Lunatic, Telephone Mama, Masterpiece, Love in your eyes, For Anita, has a very Gazebo-original sound. Interesting lyrics as well. I was a big fan when i was a kid. If you like really poppy stuff, here's one for ya.

Best of Gazebo compilation, nice work BMG., December 28, 2006
This review is from: The Best of Gazebo (Audio CD)
I owned Gazebo's 1983 debut album "I Like Chopin" on original CD released by the Italian label Baby Records (long out-of-print and worth major, major $$$$$), but in my opinion; this is the best Gazebo compilation released by BMG International because it contains mostly "untouched" original tracks - and of course all the songs from Gazebo's second album titled "Telephone Mama" are here. Don't worry, you won't get the usual annoying updated techno-house style versions either because this compilation retains all of its classic 80's Italo Disco beat. Also included are some nice original b-side instrumentals as karaoke sing alongs. This is truly a sought after album and soon to be a collectible as prices are rising quickly, get it while you can.
P.S.
His real name is Paul Mazzolini, a full-blooded Italian but born in Beirut (02-18-1960) because his father was a diplomat.

One of the classic 80's, August 15, 2007
This review is from: The Best of Gazebo (Audio CD)
I've been looking for Gazebo in CD format for years. Just learned from my music enthusiast friend that Amazon normally has the rare albums available on the net. If you're an 80's music fans, you can't miss it. However, it should have had 5 stars. The reason I took one star off because of the last track, I like Chopin in an instruments version. This track is not as good as I expected. It's just a pure instruments without a singer voice. Nothing make it special. And yet, it's too short to use it as a Karaoke purpose neither. So that for anyone who is considering to buy the Best of Gazebo, I recommend the Red cover. Then you will not only have a 'Solitair' in exchange of this track but also pay USD 7.5 cheaper.
