I have read Bond's other travel book for women: "Gutsy Women's 'More Travel Tips and Wisdom for the Road," and thought it was a terrific addition to overall travel guides and tips. This book, also geared toward female travel, is also great! She does a great job of giving a breakdown of different countries (including many you may not have thought to travel to with a group of your girl friends or even just yourself, such as Peru and Fez) and highlighting some of the true beauty of these countries and pointing you towards the "local" things to do and places to visit. Even in popular cities such as Paris, she provides information about fun and different destinations to visit and opportunities that aren't always outlined to travelers, while giving you pointers on the best time to visit the "touristy" places such as the Eiffel Tower. I found myself enthusiastic to take a hike through England (yes, a hike through England) something most wouldn't think to be part of England's attractions considering its rich intellectual and theatrical culture. You want a better-than-the-real-thing couture dress for a fraction of the cost that will fit you like a dream? Head over to Vietnam to the tailor's capital of the world (yes, even tailors can be world renowned apparently)! She outlines the food that each place is known for and often provides recommendations to a few of her own favorite places but encourages you to find your own. She does provide travel tips and safety guides as well that, if you have her previously mentioned book, may be a repeat but still helpful. She talks about vacations that fit many different budgets and travel interests, she separates each destination into categories such as "Exotic Escapes" and "Cosmopolitan Cities".Read more ›
