4.0 out of 5 stars Great Performances!
This DVD captures Campbell at what was probably the peak of his career. His voice is exceptional and his stage presence is right on. There are a number of his greatest hits included as well as some seldom heard additions. I liked the modified version of "Galveston" and his performance of "Mary in The Morning". 3.0 out of 5 stars A rare treat for Glen's fans
As other reviewers have noted, the sound and video quality are below today's standards. The video looks like off-air recordings on a home VCR, but the mono sound is acceptable. You'll overlook these flaws as you enjoy some fresh new renditions of some of Glen's most popular hits. After polishing his skills on the weekly Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on CBS, 1969-1972,...

This DVD captures Campbell at what was probably the peak of his career. His voice is exceptional and his stage presence is right on. There are a number of his greatest hits included as well as some seldom heard additions. I liked the modified version of "Galveston" and his performance of "Mary in The Morning". The section pairing Campbell with songwriter Jimmy Webb is a treat. The two talents were a great combination. Campbell's rendition of MacArthur Park is one of my favorites.

The DVD quality does leave much to be desired. The video is VHS quality and the sound is a little scratchy at times. However, for the price and the number of performances included I suppose these limitation should be overlooked.

I believe this would be a loved addition to any Glen Campbell Fan's collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 star performances / 3 star picture / 1 star sound, June 22, 2007
This review is from: The Best of the Glen Campbell Music Show (DVD)
But as another reviewer explained, Glen's performances and the rarity of these performances do in fact make up for the less than perfect sound and vision of this programme. I would highly recommend the dvd 'Glen Campbell In Concert' recorded a few years back (2002 I think)Glen is in top form, picture is crystal and the sound...THE SOUND is superb!(Dolby Digital 5.1!)
Hope this helps

Having been there playing Bass with Glen on these concerts, watching them now is rather like entering a time machine. Bob Felts was on Drums, Carl Jackson was on Guitar and Banjo and Dennis McCarthy was our Conductor.
I always considered Glen to be ahead of his time as a country singer, moreover, his understanding and interpretation of the pop music of the day paved the way for todays stars such as Steve Wariner, Vince Gill and Keith Urban.
The London Musicians were also a pleasure to work with.
Thank God for Glen Campbell!

As other reviewers have noted, the sound and video quality are below today's standards. The video looks like off-air recordings on a home VCR, but the mono sound is acceptable. You'll overlook these flaws as you enjoy some fresh new renditions of some of Glen's most popular hits. After polishing his skills on the weekly Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on CBS, 1969-1972, this collection (apparently from a short run British or Canadian series; it's never quite clear except for one reference to "Mary In The Morning" being a hit in England) shines from Glen's flawless, rich performances in the days before he adopted the corny "country twang" accent that infects today's most of today's country music. Frankly, I can't hear much difference among today's male country vocalists - Tim, George, Clint, Alan, Keith, etc. - their voices, style and songs are all interchangeable, like standard parts in a machine. But on his signature ballads, no one can outperform Glen. A recently released cover of "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" by one of today's best female vocalists, Maureen McGovern, proves that even an A-list singer can't top Campbell's original. The best part of this collection is it's all Glen, unlike the recent collection of Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour highlights, also on DVD, which mostly pairs Glen with other vocalists, and with mixed results. Although video recording wasn't as common as it is today, it's hard to believe such a popular singer (how many solo singers had their own TV show by 1970?) has such a limited archive of video recordings. I can only hope whoever owns the Goodtime Hour series will release most of the Glen-only material on DVD in the near future.

5.0 out of 5 stars the many glen's, September 26, 2007

This video presents Glen and his music in a variety of settings.
You see Glen riding through the air over the audience on a contraption while singing "Gentle on My Mind"--alone with guitar singing "Oklahoma Sunday Morning" or blazing through a stunning guitar arrangement of "Ain't No Sunshine" all from the Glen Campbell Music Show. The extras are notable Glen and Jimmy Webb performing together which is a treat. Also, you get Glen's band from the late 70's --very tight and it is nice seeing him interacting with the band. This is a nice varied set of Glen's music.

I was blown away by this awesome dvd of Glen Campbell in his prime. Most of this rare footage was taken from an english tv performance. What a great singer, guitarist and all aroung great entertainer. The picture quality isn't the greatest but,the performances more than make up for it. Check out the guitar instrumental of "AIN'T NO SUNSHINE"

4.0 out of 5 stars Good...but not AS good as "Good Times Again", May 13, 2011

Between this video and "Glen Campbell: Good Times Again" the latter is much better due to the picture an sound.
"Good Times Again" has duets with several other of my favorite singers. I also favor it over this one because
it has him doing a duet with Bobbie Gentry. This was very good (although not great) video. I liked Glen best in
the early years when he was still clean cut and before the beard and the drugs. Although I liked his late 70s
tunes like Sunflower, Southern Nights and others, I just did'nt care for the late 70's part of the video. Glen
finally appears to be back on track (for now) and I think I'm liking him better these days. But I've ALWAYS
liked his music and these 2 DVDs brings back many a fond memory of my youth.
