This review is from: Best of Gomo (Audio CD)
We have an international music video channel (IMF), and that's where I first heard of Gomo. "Feeling Alive" is one of the stand-out tracks, and is his first single. "I Wonder" is his second single, and is a great track as well. He does really good slow songs, musically (You Never Came, I Wonder), and his fast, more rocking songs are even better (Army Slave, November 6th). The music is upbeat, catchy, and danceable. The Sad thing, is that most of his songs are pop. They all have a drum loop, synthesizer, simple bass, and a solo guitar. The thing that's different about Gomo, is that his music has a string section in most songs, and even a brass section on "I Wonder." Musically, Gomo's music is excellent, and the lyrics are really good. It's worth picking up if you care for rock/pop.
Feeling Alive: 9.5/10 A really good track.
I Wonder: 10/10 The third-best song on the album, and the brass section is great.
Santa's Depression: 8/10 Good, but the ending is better than the rest of the song.
Army Slave: 12/10 The best song on the album.
Proud to be Bald: 8.5/10 Funny lyrics, but a bland drum loop.
November 6th: 9.5 The synthsesizer on this song are really good, and the lyrics are so happy.
Can't Find You: 7.5/10 Eh, not too great.
You Never Came: 11/10 The second-best song on the album. It sends a chill down my spine, it's just so amazing. Seriously.
Be Careful With the Train: 8.5/10 I like this song. The lead guitar is good.
It's All Worth It: 8.5/10 Good lyrics, but it's too repetitive.
Caught: 7.5/10 Sounds pretty much like "Can't Find You."
You Might Ask: 9/10 Pretty good, and it's a nice ending.
