4.0 out of 5 stars For Collecters Only
Are You Ready...For more funk? If you grew up on the funk like me, and your a GFR fanatic. You'll probably want to pick up this very pricy best of collection. Most of the early hits are here (18 selections in all), the sound is exceptable, doesn't sound remastered. There have been a number of GFR compilations already released. So this is only for the die-heart Funkettes...

1.0 out of 5 stars totally pointless & thoughtlessly assembled collection
There's no reason for even a casual GFR collector
to buy this piece of crap. The cover photo is
inexplicable...In this dark, dingey shot,
the band is walking off stage away from
the camera and is unrecognizable. What's up
with that ???
Further, these songs have been released with superior
mastering before. For almost the same price, you...

Further, these songs have been released with superior

own the fabulous "Thirty Years Of Funk" 3-CD set !!
Last, "Sin's A Good Man's Brother " is in it's single
edit version. What the hell is the point of this ???

GFR had unparalled popularity in the early 70's. Capitol
has treated them like dirt, just as critics did. This sort
of B.S. rip off is a disgrace. If you're only a casual GFR
fan ( you're an idiot, but I'll indulge you anyway...)
get the Capitol collectors set and wait for the promised
catalog revamp in 2002.

But this woeful assemblage of tracks is miserably packaged
and an utter waste of money
