Though perhaps not the definitive versions of all the songs presented, this collection is the best I've heard to give a newcomer to "elliniki musiki" entree into the last few decades of Greek popular music (which until very recently WAS "bouzouki").

Perhaps the only real complaint I had was that the theme from "Pote tin Kyriaki" (Never on Sunday) wasn't included. Yes, I know the film was made for Western audiences, but the song ... pure Greek, and sadly, missing from this collection.

this CD is truly awful. In no way does it represent either "the Best Greek Bouzoukis [sic]" or the "Great Favorites." And it sure doesn't sound like "Various" artists, either. Imagine a compilation of "America's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Hits" by the Lawrence Welk Orchestra, and you'll get the idea.... Tourist bait at its worst.
