I have been ordering Mancini cds lately because his music brings back a feeling when I was young. My parents had Mancini music on during their dinner parties, cocktail parties and of course everyone was smoking away.....mom and dad had those sterling silver cigarette boxes filled just like they filled the ice bucket! Ha! Remember those times? Anyway, this music puts me back in a time when I was cared for, safe and protected. What's funny is when our 26 year old son came home recently and heard the music for the first time he stopped, listened and said, "I like this music, makes the house feel happy." Yep, that just about sums it up.

I had ripped this one on Windows Media together with others and sent them to my daughter, Janis. She called to tell me It was her favorite of the six she received. Then I had to listen to it immediately and learned it is my favorite too. I suggest you will like it.

Not his new Greatest Hits CD so can get at a good price. "Good works' kind of CD - some of his original movie themes, with other hits like "Raindrops Keep Fallin on my Head" etc. I am a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn, but don't like the distored cutout image of her on the cover...kind of misleadingl.

This CD has a number of Mancini's mixed in with somed lesser knowns. It is a mixture of vocal and instrumental--very well done.

Thoroughly enjoying this. Very cool retro. Favorites are Experiment in Terror, Peter Gunn, etc.

This is a great CD to listen to. The best of the best from the 50's on. Brings back memories from when I was a child and going forward. I listen to this often.

My father LOVES Henry Mancini. I bought him this album because it contains the "Baby Elephant Walk." I grew up with Henry Mancini's music and enjoy it myself. My father and I listened to the album together and he LOVED it. He plays it all the time and . . . I ended up buying one for myself!

When shopping, I was excited by the list of songs on the CD and was looking forward to listening. Unfortunately, the songs lack the wonderful vocals and orchestral back-up I was expecting. Many of the songs have that 'Hammond Organ' sound. I am disappointed.

If you're a fan of Henry Mancini's music as you've heard it all your life, this isn't the CD for you. This bland collection of re-worked pablum was assembled after he died, and perhaps its only saving grace is the fact that Mancini wasn't alive to hear it. The reviewer who referred to this album's "Hammond organ" sound was spot on... most of the tracks have the same feel that you'd get from hearing them performed as part of a medley on the Lawrence Welk Show; you eventually recognize the tune, but there's no way you'd confuse it with the original.

In particular, the two tracks I bought this for (The Pink Panther Theme & Windmills of Your Mind) sound too plinky and cheesy to even listen to. I got this disc REALLY cheap, and I'm still completely disappointed. There's plenty of "Best of Henry Mancini" albums out there... choose a different one.

unfortunately, this CD suffers from poor sound quality. It is not worth even the low price that it is offered at.....
