If you do not own the complete Buddy Miller catalog, this is a great starter set and will get you hooked. His voice is addictive, his songs are the best Americana around -- better even than Steve Earle (I know, that's hard to believe, but trust me.) The arrangements are the right kind of minimal -- I always feel like I am listening to a first take. Get this! You'll enjoy singing along.

I keep finding out more and more about this great songwriter. He and his wife are the masters of lonesome country harmonies. And the songs he has written . . . . You'll know most of them. Well worth buying.

I purchased this after seeing Buddy Miller backing Robert Plant's Band of Joy this year. After seeing him live i was impressed by his knowledge of Americana music, his true style and his overall stage presence. The cd is very mellow and is a good listen when you are in the mood for this type of music. This is a nice sampler.

The CD titled Buddy Miller, The Best of the Hightone Years is one of the best CD's I have purchased in years. This CD, is for those that have loved and lost, and for those that continue to love and will always love that special someone. There is a combination of sorrow, lost, happiness and longing all combined in one CD. If you love that twangy country music sound that could almost be called blue-grass in some songs, you will love this CD. Buddy and Julie's duets are so entwined that their voices sound as one, Buddy's voice is able to convey the emotions of the songs perfectly. Definitely a winner! If I lost this CD today, I would buy another one immediately.

Buddy Miller is a flat-out great musician. I already had one of his Hightone CDs, but this one has lots of Julie Miller and other harmony singers, too. I really love this.
